I have been a H.T.B. for 5 years and have worked with 4 different women. All who have enjoyed and appreciated the service we offer. I have found personally that the relationships that are build create a safe and nurturing space for women with breast cancer. It gives them permission to share there fears, concerns and just surrender to divine order. Having someone to confide in who is not emotionally attached to the out come yet gives love unconditionally seems to be a real comfort . I have been honored to be a buddy and have grown personally thru this experience. All of my buddies have shared that having a session prior to chemo helps with the side effects and there over all well being.
One of my buddies I was able to help transition peacefully. This was a beautiful experience to participate in and I am grateful for the love and trust we shared. Namaste`, Susie
Hi I am Susie Higgins C.H.T.P. I have had 3 healing touch buddies over the last 4 year. It has been my privilege and honor to be of support to the brave women battling breast cancer. In a small way I can assist them in relaxing, reliving fear and pain. We can set a intention or mutual goal for our session coming from a heart centered space. This is where peace and healing takes place. I receive as much as I give maybe more.:) Healing Touch Buddies is a great support system. Namaste`, Susie
Having a "Buddy" with Healing Touch Buddies was an enlightening honor. The trials and tribulations of women with breast cancer is, at times, overwhelming. It was helpful to the patient and gratifying to me to participate with this healing modality. Healing Touch Buddies performs an awesome service in South Florida. We are so lucky to have this organization here.
I have been part of the inception of Healing Touch Buddies, plus I've had a buddy and have interacted with other Buddy programs and am now the Educational Director of the program. From the onset, when Betty Ann Baker asked me if I wanted to be onboard to get this Buddy program off the ground - it has had a magical energy to it. I've seen Buddies who had gone into remission and remained there (such as mine) and have experienced Buddies make incredibly peaceful transitions through this program, plus everything in between. But what I see even beyond that, as the instructor for the Volunteer weekend training program all practitioner volunteers must take, - is that it continually spreads the consciousness of unconditional love and nurturing. The givers gain as much as the receivers in their own ways. And people who know about this program, take part in it or just hear the stories are somehow enhanced. It is the template of what I hope we are progressing towards. The ability to give and to receive without ledgers or vouchers or receipts of any kind, but just the loving energy of kindness.
