Healing Heroes Network has allowed my son, a recently medically retired Marine who experience intense combat in Afghanistan to obtain Hyperaric Therapy treatment for his PTSD and Short Term Memory loss from TBi. These treatments would have been impossible to afford without the genreosity of HHN. Hyperbaric Therapy is the only therapy that genuinly works for PTSD and involves not meds. Dr Peter Stephens owner of Hyperbaric Therapy of the LowCountry in Hilton Head, SC is exceptional.

seemed more concerned with protecting their territory and business interests, and bad-mouthing other veterans groups than helping other vets. most of their money goes to the husband doctor of their executive director, for travel and seminars.

Just want to thank Stephanie and the rest of the Healing Heroes Network team for purchasing an Alpha Stim unit for me. It is one of the few treatment protocols that has helped alleviate symptoms of injury during an Iraq combat deployment 8 years ago, and I am grateful they found the value in this device for my particular case. HHN is a great organization and can hopefully reciprocate my gratitude my spreading as many good messages about them as I can. Thank you!

If it wasn't for Healing Heros I would not be getting Hyberbarric Oxygen therapy treatments for a Traumatic Brain Injury i received fighting in Afghanistan in 2011. They have been instrumental in helping me get treatments that are not covered by the army. This organization gets vets the help that they need, when they need it, with out making us jump through crazy hoops. I can't thank them enough. If you're looking to donate to an organization that makes a tangible and substantial difference in a combat wounded vet's life... these guys are the real deal.

How did you find this group?
I was referred to them by me wounded warrior advocate.
What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?
I have noticed a dramatic decrease in my migraine headaches and hope to notice some improvement in my memory and concentration when treatment is complete.
My husband was injured in Afghanistan in September 2010 and has several physical injuries. Healing Heroes Network has made it possible for him to receive treatments that were unavailable to him through the Tricare system. Thank you to HHN for everything you are doing for my husband.

My husband served a one year tour in the Operation Iraqi Freedom War Campaign where he was exposed to environmental hazardous waste/toxic chemicals which damaged his lungs permanently. This lung disease cannot be seen in an x-ray or PFT and it is a reactive condition that causes a person's oxygen level to drop. The key to preventing him from any danger would be to monitor his oxygen level with a pulse oxymeter. After being denied a pulse oxymeter by the Veterans Clinic we felt helpless but after researching we found Healing Heroes Network. Healing Heroes answered our prayers and quickly addressed the issue without hesitation. The key to surviving constrictive bronchiolitis is to stay physically active while monitoring the oxygen levels. Healing Heroes provided that tool and for that we are forever indebted to them, they allowed us to live our lives with the peace that we are now able to monitor his levels to prevent him from being put in any danger. The staff is empathetic and sincere towards our nation's heroes and their families. True Heroes

HEALING HEROES- LITERALLY!
TO ALL MY FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND FELLOW AMERICANS- THERE IS A HERO, A VETERAN, AMAZING SINGLE FATHER, AND A TRULY GENIUNE MAN THAT NEEDED OUR HELP. PLEASE READ MY STORY THAT I GAVE TO ALMOST HUNDREDS OF CHARITTIES AROUND THE COUNTRY AND WAS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE WORKS OF HEALING HEROES NETWORK. JUST WHEN I HAD GIVEN UP HOPE, AND LOST SO MUCH FAITH, THIS ORGANIZATION STEPPED UP WITH PLEASURE TO HELP HEAL MY BROTHER. I WILL FOREVER BE A LIFETIME DONOR TO THE HEALING HEROES NETWORK! THEY REALLY DO CARE, AND HELP THESE MEN AND WOMEN IN NEED!
MY HERO – MY BROTHER
My brother, Frank is a Marine Combat Vet. He is an amazing young man who I am very proud of. I have watch my brother struggle with the effects that heavy combat that he saw during his service in the United States Marines. I am so grateful that Frank returned home but he did not return whole. Frank served his country well and watched many of his friends perish in the worst way possible. Frank fought in a VERY extreme time of battle and was involved in operations that lost MANY men and exchanged LOTS of artillery.
I remember watching on the news daily and seeing the body count. I remember my mother saying I wonder where my son is and thinking of what he must be going through. How afraid he must be and us praying if captured he would not be tortured. I never wish this upon any parent though I know too many have gone through the same thing.
Frank did receive many injuries which consist of brain trauma, hearing loss, an elbow injury, a broken/fractured spine and neck and others. The worst part is the PTSD that Frank suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is so heart wrenching to watch what my brother goes through including the nightmares and anxiety that he experiences. What I respect the most about my brother is the way he continues to be a hero to his family by trying so very hard every day to live a normal life and how thankful he is to be here with us to share day to day family time. Frank is such an attentive dad and great person and when Frank sees someone hurting or going through a rough time he is always the first person to ask them if he can pray with them or give them words of encouragement. Frank is definitely able to raise his daughter, be a wonder brother and maintains a home with morals and stability for his baby girl and I feel he deserves the chance to receive the help to lay these demons down that haunt him because of his service for our country so his struggle is not so hard.
One and a half years after Frank had returned from the service, his father passed away in March of 2011, his very best childhood friend Nick, who we considered our brother passed away in May of 2011 and Amber, the mother of his baby girl was murdered in July of 2011, all within six months of each other. Frank is a single father of a beautiful 19 month baby girl and she is his reason for living. Frank has experienced such survivor’s guilt and not long ago, after Amber was taken from Frank and Ave, he told my mom “Mom, I guess I know why God spared me now; I am to be the best dad I can be to Ava”. Frank is a wonderful father and takes full responsibility for Ava (bows and all J). Recently Frank has been struggling very hard with guilt for having to take the pain medicine the V.A. gives him for his injuries as well as his severe dreams again. Frank has gone through the programs that the V.A. has to offer; in fact he’s gone through them a few times. Frank needs more than the V.A. can offer and this has been confirmed with his doctor at the V.A. in regards to the programs that the V.A. just cannot provide.
We researched programs that we feel will be able to truly help Frank and we feel he’s best at LaPaloma. After researching this program and the fee for this help we realize that this is almost impossible for most. We alone know more than one Vet that could certainly benefit from this type of treatment as it works so much with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and reprogramming the way the Vet now thinks which sometimes is not very functional in the civilian world. These men gave their all (literally) and they deserve the best.
I spent countless hours, night and day, for the past 3 and a half weeks straight calling and talking, researching and trying so hard to get my brother into this program. Since the loss of our father I hold on to Frank so dearly.
Ava needed her Hero and I needed my brother. Ava and I have also experienced great loss through the death of a parent and we needed Frank, he is our glue.
I want to share with you a story that my mom told me that broke my heart , she said one day she walked out on her balcony where Frank was standing looking out into the woods that adjoin their property, she noticed that he had tears in his eyes and she asked him, Frank what is wrong and he responded, “Mom, when we all went out to eat last night you were all so happy, and so was I, but I couldn’t enjoy it because my brain is trained so well that I knew within minutes who was sitting where around us, I had located all of the exits, all of the weapons of opportunity and I am so sad that I couldn’t concentrate on just having dinner and now out here on this balcony I remember I use to love sitting out here and looking at these woods but now all I see is the enemy.” She said she felt so helpless at that moment and she just hugged him and said I’m so sorry Frank, I wish I would have never agreed for you to go into the service, he looked at her in the eye and said “What? Mom, I would do it all again”, she said why Frank, look what it has done to you, why would you do that, he said to her “So my little girl and your little girl and everyone’s children hopefully will never ever have to see war here- on their soil - what I had to see and the children there had to see on their soil. I am proud of my service; I just want to be whole again.”
This is my Hero that I am so proud of. THANK YOU TO THE HEALING HEROES NETWORK FOR THEIR TIME AND ENERGY IN WORKING WITH ME AND MAKING THIS POSSIBLE FOR MY BROTHER! I am shocked that this dream became a reality and my brother got a second chance to make himself whole. So far he has been in the program for a few days and says he is so glad someone reached out the helping hand. The people there are great and he really feels like this is his time to shine. I don’t know what my family would have done without this amazing non-profit organization. Healing Heroes Network is not a staff of people, they are a group of angels healing one hero at a time. HHN does not treat you like just another “number” they build relationships and treat you like you are family. I cannot wait to see the amazing things that come from my brother once he is back to being Frank! Like I stated earlier, I WILL FOREVER BE A LIFETIME DONOR TO HHN! I HAVE SEEN THEIR MIRACLES FIRSTHAND. I LOVE HHN!. And thank you to all of the parents that son’s and daughter’s serve in the Armed Services to ensure the freedoms that we all enjoy.
Thank you,
Ashley Lynch

How did you find this group?
THROUGH A CASE MANAGER AT THE VA IN HOUSTON
What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?
ALL POSITIVE. THEY HAVE CHANGED MY WHOLE FAMILY. HELPING BY GIVING OPPORTUNITY TO HEAL MY BROTHER, BY SHOWING ME TO NEVER GIVE UP HOPE. THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT DO CARE. AND HHN IS IT!
My son returned from Iraq suffering from PTSD, as so many others are. He floundered with unemployment and underemployment for over a year before he hit a crisis point. While desperately seeking services for him, our family came across Healing Heroes and applied for help. They were able to connect my son with a very reputable service provider for treatment of PTSD. He is now, finally, getting the help he needs, which would be financially impossible without Healing Heroes. I will be eternally grateful for this help in healing for my son!

To all the members of Healing Heroes, I cannot begin to tell you all how much the help my son is receiving means to all of us. He was a soldier in the 82nd Airborne and served one tour in Iraq. As a Combat Medic he experienced more than his fair share of the brutalities of war. When we did speak about it, it was not the injuried soldiers or enemy combatants that really got to him, it was the Iraq people, particulary the children that would be injured or killed by IED's on road sides or market places. His undiagnosed PTSD emmerged after he was in a traffic accident about 2 years after he returned home from the war. He had a episode a couple of days later in which he broke down and simply just "lost it". He has been able to make an incredible turn around in his life since this organization came to the rescue. The role that HHN has played has been significant. I fear Austin may have slipped past the point of help if you all could not have stepped in and assisted the way you all did.
Your organization is now one that I speak about often and solicit help for with almost everyone I speak to.
