I became involved with Harvest Home over a year ago now during their annual Toast to the Turkey's celebration in 2011. Since then, I have been enamored with the staff and the animals at the Sanctuary. I have loved every minute of my involvement with Harvest Home.

Harvest Home deserves 5 stars because they are dedicated to helping animals and they give clueless people like me an opportunity to be involved in the process and day-to-day duties. Now I'm no longer clueless. I've learned a lot from being a volunteer!

Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary is my favorite animal rescue! It is located at an accessible place, not too far from those in the bay area or from those in the central area. The volunteers and staff are really dedicated to the immediate and broader cause of their work. They are creative in providing public outreach and education through their workshops, and they are also dedicated in fundraising efforts for meeting the immediate health needs of their animals. Whenever I get a chance to visit Harvest Home, even just for a few minutes, I always see animals at peace. By volunteering with Harvest Home, I learned a lot about animal rescue and my experience there has definitely encouraged me to make more responsible and ethical choices in my life. :)

This is really a great place to get involved in animal rescue for those who are just starting to gain a deeper understanding of animal welfare and rights. The volunteers who run this sanctuary are very flexible and friendly. The sanctuary is located in a very far off area, but it is a perfect place for a sanctuary to be as it is very quiet. Sanctuary animals all seem at peace, roaming around and not being caged. I like seeing Mohawk the pig every now and then in different parts of the sanctuary, he has the freedom to go wherever he wants and looks content. It's cute seeing the turkeys jump on the porch and look into the windows where the adoptable bunnies are. Every time I arrive, the sanctuary dogs (and sometimes chickens) are always there to greet me and escort me to the main house where I volunteer. Also, it's great to know that there is a place that loves and cares for bunnies with difficult disabilities like wry neck. After volunteering, you always feel satisfied with your day!

I LOVE and support Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary. As a volunteer and previous tenant, I have first hand knowledge of the great work they do for people and animals. It doesn't matter how hard the case is, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary doesn't shy away from the challenges. Although they are one of the smaller sanctuaries up in Northern California, the people their have big hearts and a lot of compassion for any and all animals. They have a wonderful indoor habitat for their many rabbits, and large pastures for all of the large animals and chickens and each animal gets great care and love from the people who live on the sanctuary and their volunteers.

Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary is an excellent organization. The sanctuary is run professionally and the animals get the best possible lifelong care. As a volunteer I feel that my efforts have a direct contribution to the lifesaving work that Harvest Home does.

I volunteer for Harvest Home whenever I have the opportunity. Harvest Home is not only a sanctuary for animals that have suffered horrendous suffering, but is a sanctuary for animal activists as well. I am so grateful to have this wonderful sanctuary nearby, and look forward to visiting and supporting Harvest Home for years to come!

I have been volunteering with Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary for over 4 years now. They take in animals that typically would be killed in shelters or are old & unwanted. They provide not only much needed medical aid but an unconditional love that some of them have never felt. When I have personally come across animals in need of rescue & felt utterly helpless, Harvest Home has always stepped in to save their lives. I have always had complete confidence in the care they have provided & their workers are not only knowledgeable in the field of animal care, they are a complete joy to volunteer with. Though I do not make much money, any funds I am able to donate always goes to Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, easily one of the best animal sanctuaries in the greater bay area.

They do a wonderful job taking care of rabbits and other small animals who have specialized needs. I have volunteered a couple times and it's very fun.

I've been volunteering at Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary for a year and a half. Harvest Home provides sanctuary for rescued and/or abused farmed animals, such as chickens, roosters, guinea fowl, turkeys, ducks, goats, rabbits and one very special pot-bellied pig. Without Harvest Home, these animals would have no where else to go and would likely be euthanized. Harvest Home provides loving care, food, shelter and medical treatment for their 200+ rescued residents. I've really enjoyed volunteering at Harvest Home Sanctuary. My favorite volunteer opportunities are the rabbit and chicken spa days, where the animals are given a full health check and nail trim. Harvest Home also educates the public about the treatment of farmed animals and has given people the opportunity to meet these animal ambassadors face to face and see them as living beings. Once you feed a turkey a cranberry, your life will never be the same! It is an honor and a privilege to volunteer at Harvest Home and I'm proud to also be a Harvest Home supporter.
