Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles builds and renovates homes in partnership with God and people everywhere with a goal of eliminating substandard housing by making decent, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action in our communities. 


Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has built nearly 700 homes to date in Greater Los Angeles and around the world. We operate two succesful retail stores in Gardena and Norwalk which sell home improvement materials to the public. Proceeds from the store support our work. We are currently building in multiple cities and engage over 10,000 volunteers each year.

Habitat for Humanity seeks to partner with hard working individuals and families who demonstrate the need for better shelter.

Direct beneficiaries per year:

up to 75 homeowners


HFH GLA's A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) program provides exterior home repairs free of charge to qualifying low-income homeowners.  Repairs can include painting, landscaping and other minor repairs.  Interested homeowners must demonstrate proof of ownership, residency in the Greater LA region and financial need.  This program is targeted towards low-income households earning less than 80% of area median income.

I have shopped at the Habitat for Humanity store in Gardena and have found some great deals for my home. they have windows, doors, lights tile and really cheap! Made my bathroom remodel affordable. They get lots of items from sets from the movie studios too.
