I found Grist a few years ago - it is my go to source for what's happening environmentally and for excellent information about issues that I care about. I don't like the rants I've been reading lately but the info is still solid.

Grist covers a variety of areas from energy, pollution, to food policy with a variety of formats including news articles and sometimes satires and longer essays. It used to have a comic strip. While an indispensable service for me, sometimes I am put off by its whole adoption of the conventional environmental discourse which labels anyone who disagrees with the conventional understanding of global warming for whatever reason as a denier or some other negative moniker. In this sense, it could be more open to other points of view and understand that just because our paradigm says something is so, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is.

Being able to cite various examples in the materials that I write and publish in other places.

Be more open to non-conventional or even contradictory arguments on environmental matters. Having an open mind to critics may be far more valuable for learning than reading and publishing many articles by like-minded folks.

Grist is consistently inspiring, well thought-out, progressive, and covers a broad range of issues. I am impressed and excited by their style and professionalism in reporting and commentary. I don't donate to many organizations, but Grist is one of them.

I love Grist. I find out so much about environmental issues that I would normally not hear about in mainstream or alternative news sources. It is great to have a consistent source of science based, funny and hip environmental news that I can act on. Thank you Grist!

I look to Grist religiously for updates to anything green. That includes new health issues and opportunities, green construction products and techniques, and using our land and resources wisely. The articles always present the issues in good humor and with considerable reflection of the impacts on society.

Grist makes me laugh every week! Grist also sheds light on issues that I don't know about, or don't know enough about. I feel that Grist is written by normal people, for normal people - they don't take a holier-than-thou tack with the environmentalism, but rather make me feel like we're friends, working together to get better at taking care of the planet.
