GREYHOUND ADOPTION LEAGUE OF TEXAS INC

My husband is I are greyhound adopters. We have adopted 10 dogs now through Greyhound Adoption League of Texas. My husband is also a Veterinarian and I am the Hospital Administrator of his clinic. We work with many adoption organizations and none are as professional and well run as GALT. They are amazing with what they do for the dogs and the success they have in finding these amazing animals such good homes. We recommend them all the time and they should be a model on how to run an adoption organization. We can't say enough good things about them.

We have adopted 10 greyhounds over the years from this organization in addition to seeing animals brought in to our clinic before they are adopted.

There is nothing I would change in this organization. They do a wonderful job.
There is something about a Greyhound that provides us all a deeper spiritual connection to love and be loved. We are the forever home to two Greyhounds now; and our home will always have a Greyhound.
Adopting a Greyhound may not change the world, but it will change the world for you and your Greyhound.
GALT has a loving and supportive group of volunteers that want nothing but the best for every Greyhound brought into their care.
We fully suppor them with our time, talents, and resources.

Have adopted three Greyhounds in three years; and love all of the opportunities to share socially with the group. Fun activities for a good cause.

I wish that GALT had all of the resources needed; and all of the adoptive families needed for all Greyhounds.
I had fallen in love with a dog who came into GALT's possession as a survivor from a massive animal cruelty case. They spared no expense with him, and made sure he was nursed back to proper health. The more I found out about Charlie, the more I wanted him - even though we were 1000 miles away. Knowing how protective rescues are of their furkids and how hard it is for them to allow the adoptees to move far away, let alone 2 states over, I was extremely happy with how UNintimidating the interviews and home check processes were. I felt as though I was part of the GALT family even before Charlie was officially ours. I think GALT's entire adoption process is absolutely perfect as it properly serves both the adoptee and adopter alike.

My husband and I have been a foster home for GALTx almost since its inception. We have also volunteered in other capacties for them, such as transporting dogs to the vet, giving the incoming greys tlc, etc. The biggest thing I can say about this organization is that they will not turn an animal away, no matter if they have funds or the animal will require expensive medical care. It is all about the greyhounds, and they are each and every one given the care and love they need. This is an all volunteer group, and each person who volunteers with them, as well as potential adopters must fill out a form with background information. I can't say enough about the dedication of the leadership of this group. They are AAA rated.

I have witnessed first hand the care these animals receive with no thought to cost or any other consideration. It is greyhounds first, last, always.

I think they run a pretty tight ship, and expect a lot from their folks in leadership. If I knew more about the inner workings of this group I might be able to offer a suggestion or two, but from where I sit, they do a very good job.

In 2005 we adopted our first greyhound from the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas (GALT) and over the years adopted four more. We have fostered several greyhounds and I have been GALT's greyhound photographer since 2006. I have taken photographs of hundreds of the greyhounds which GALT has taken into its family and adopted to their forever homes. GALT never turns away a greyhound in need. This was evidenced in July, 2010, when GALT took in 9 greyhounds found in deplorable condition by Fort Worth Animal Control Cruelty investigators. GALT has adopted over 1,600 greyhounds to their forever homes since its inception. The volunteers are very dedicated to do whatever is necessary to help the greyhound. GALT is an outstanding organization and I am proud to be a part of it.

I have personally experienced the results of this organization in that it is very rewarding to see a greyhound that arrives in GALT's care that is sick and/or injured to become rehabilitated and get adopted to a wonderful home.

My late husband and I were greyhound breeders. The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas is the only adoption agency that we trusted to find great homes for our retired racers. We have sent them many dogs, and everyone is in a super home. I have been able to stay in contact with many of the current owners of our dogs. GALT greyhounds receive the absolute best medical care available. They are treated by the best specialists in the Dallas area. I used to work for a vet in the Waco area. She referred difficult cases to the same specialists that GALT uses. When my husband passed away, GALT sent their wonderful volunteers to pick up five of my greyhounds that I could not keep. I still have eight retired racers. I know without a doubt that if anythings happens to me, GALT volunteers would be here in a matter of hours to pick up my dogs. I simply cannot say enough good things about the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas.

I have nothing but good things to say about this organization. While I am not directly involved with the organization a close friend of mine is and I hear many stories of the things they do to better the lives of these animals. I am truly moved by the amount of love and dedication this organization has to any and all dogs. They go above and beyond!!!

The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas is a fantastic organization who cares about every Greyhound who joins their family. They bring each and every dog "back to life" by providing them with a loving environment and all the medical care that they need. They enlist the most amazing volunteers who care for each dog and their outcome for a flourishing and happy life.

not change a thing. The organization is great at what they do and very professional as well.
The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas is an amazing organization. Tremendous amounts of love and care are given to each and every dog that comes into GALT's care. The GALT group does whatever is necessary for each dog received, whether it be medical care, special training, etc. I have been volunteering with this group for a little more than 6 months, and it's the best charity I've worked with so far! Communication is very open, and everyone I've worked with has been very helpful and kind. The love that's lavished upon the greyhounds is tangible. If a dog didn't experience much affection from their previous background, they quickly come to understand how loved they are when they are taken in by GALT.

It's the most amazing feeling in the world to love, care for, and bond with these dogs. Some of them come to us very withdrawn and shy. To see their personalities come out is wonderful. I look forward to every time I get to see them. And it's a truly rewarding experience to receive updates on how well the dogs are doing after they've been adopted. These dogs are not forgotten after they leave GALT's care.

Not change a thing. GALT is very organized, very well run, and very honest. GALT makes sure each dog is a good fit for the home they go to.
We have adopted 6 greyhounds through GALT over a number of years. The greys have come to us in good condition after having been treated lovingly by this group. The volunteers are tireless in their love and work ethic for these wonderful dogs.
