I will always have a greyhound in my family. Thanks to G.A.L.T. I am blessed with a sweet four legged member of my family. This organization not only rescues retired racers, but as in the case of my adopted greyhound, they are available to rescue any greyhound. My dog's parents were found running loose and the mother dog was pregnant. They not only rescued her but were able to find homes for all her puppies. Most people are not aware of what happens to the retired racers and through G.A.L.T.'s education programs that is being corrected. Thank you G.A.L.T. for all you do for these beautiful sight hounds.

How did you find this group?

Internet search for greyhound rescues near my area.

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?

When I first adopted this greyhound, there were unknown medical/mental issues. They were quick to help me find an answer to the issue and offered contact with another person with a similar problem.

We have adopted two beautiful hounds from GALT. Their volunteers, Foster homes and veteranarians far exceed any organization I have ever been associated with. I don't know how to thank all of the people involved with this organization, if it were not for those Angels for Greyhounds my house would not be as filled with love, Thank you all, Ann Sparks

The GALT organization is truly amazing! The love and compassion shown toward any and all greythounds that are rescued by GALT is endless. The dogs are given the best possible care and everything possible is done to insure that they find the "just right" forever home. There is something about a greyhound that just touches your heart....perhaps because they have already given so much of themselves and their hearts are truly made of gold. I now am the proud owner of 3 greyhounds....2 of these were my fosters...so I recognize I perhaps failed at fostering...but I will never fail to love these wonderful dogs and the people who give of themselves everyday to make the lives of these doggies a true "life of a dog"...sleep...eat...sleep..run a little...sleep...sleep...sleep...roach...sleep...change roach posiion...sleep...smile!

not change a thing...but only wish for more monetary contributions to take care of all of these greyhounds.

GALT has the biggest heart. They never turn away a greyhound (or part greyhound) in need. GALT volunteers take the best care of the dogs. I am so impressed with the good work they do, I donate to them (and I live in Maryland).

I wouldn't change a thing. Greyhounds in Texas are lucky to have GALT.

GALT is an extraordinary group of volunteers that is willing to take in and care for any greyhound. They are constantly raising funds and promoting greyhound welfare, but they are never pushy or preachy. GALT is very active in both community events and social media to reach a wide audience. My experience with the volunteers has always been very positive. The people are very nice and knowledgeable about greyhounds and the organization.

I adopted a greyhound from this organization. The greyhound broke his leg while racing and was subsequently turned over to GALT who paid for his surgery and rehabilitated him back to full health before he was able to be adopted into our family.

This is an awesome group that never stops advocating for the Greyhounds. I adopted my wonderful Mona from them and it was a great experience. They are constantly promoting their dogs, raising funds for their care and educating about the breed. I can't imagine that any group does as much for the Greyhounds!

As a lover and appreciator of greyhounds, it is my opinion that this organization is the best. True advocates for greyhounds, they are active in social media, constantly fundraising and raising awareness of these wonderful animals. I have never heard a negative thing said about them or their volunteers. Thank you, GALT, for all that you do!

I have to say I am very much in awe at the wonderful work that GALT does for Greyhounds. They do everything possible to give greyhounds a chance in finding their forever home. I never knew how lovable and what wonderful pets Greyhounds could make. They melt your heart and want only love in return.

When we were looking for a greyhound 10 years ago we picked GALT because their adoption process was so thorough . . . right down to asking for references and lots of candid questions. They absolutely want to match the right dog with the right family. They were available for follow-up questions after adoption and throughout the years as we cycled through being newlyweds, working long hours, having kids, and then as our hound became a senior.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

As some of the "early" adopters, we have watched GALT grow and grown in our love and experience with the hounds right along with them.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

None whatsoever.

Of the many dog rescue organizations throughout the country I have been active in, GALT is without a doubt THE most professional, well organized and effective animal rescue I have come across. The tireless work, care and education you provide the dogs, the adopters and the general public is beyond reproach. Bravo! GALT you are loved and appreciated by hundreds of dogs whose lives you have lovingly saved and the lucky gaurdians who have taken them into their hearts and homes.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

increasing public awareness, medical attention to retired, injured and abused racing dogs

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

None!!
