Greenwood serves a unique niche in the community. Unlike animal shelters, Greenwood takes in injured, orphaned, or abandoned wild animals and strives to rehabilitate them so they can be returned to the wild. Because of wildlife regulations, they cannot open their facilities for tours, so community members are not able to visit to see the animals and appreciate the work done there every day. As a volunteer, I see the work firsthand and understand the dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers. I have close contact with the staff and board and find the leadership to be strong and everyone to have a high level of integrity. I strongly support the organization and hope others will, too.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

How the animals are treated when they come to Greenwood. Each one is an individual and receives care based on its unique needs. I've been present when rehabilitated animals are released back into the wild and it is a profoundly moving experience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Working with a skilled, highly competent, and dedicated group of people.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Better educate the community about how to interact with wildlife and how to handle potential cases of abandonment or injury.
