The first time I boarded the Lady Washington was in 2005, and have enjoyed going on cruises and vacations aboard ever since. The Hawaiian Chieftain companion vessel is also enjoyable. I have learned about the history of our state of Washington as well as maritime history. The crew provides hands-on experiences on sailing tall ships, where you can actually sail 18th century technology, from hauling lines to weighing anchor to going aloft. The crew members are friendly and knowledgeable, and lots of fun. I have taken vacations and sails in the San Juan Islands enjoying the beauty and ecology of the islands. I have visited the seaport and seen the hard work and dedication of the employees, and especially appreciate the giant lathe, which provides a valuable service all over the nation for other tall ships as well as Hollywood set productions. This organization is one of expansion and adventure, and has always been professional. The people are friendly and make everyone feel welcome, like you are part of a family. I love the volunteer programs, and how they have set up ways to donate. It has changed my life in ways that are indescribable.

As a volunteer with Tall Ships Victoria I am familiar with both Lady Washington & Hawaiian Chieftain. The crews of these two ships are great to work with and to sail with. Highly recommend either vessel for a ship tour, sail, or battle sail!
