Grace Resource Center (GRC), founded on 1990, grew out of the need to replace a food ministry that had ceased to exist for the homeless, near homeless, and the working poor of the Antelope Valley. Grace Resource Center is an emergency food distribution center located in Lancaster, in northern Los Angeles County. GRC helps 6,000 people each month with emergency groceries and hot "Souper" meals. Groceries are distributed five times each and the hot meals are served four times each week.GRC is a volunteer driven, community based, non-profit Christian charitable organization with four paid staff and 400 volunteers. Beyond food services, GRC seeks to provide more permanent answers to hunger and poverty through "Operation Fresh Start," an adoption program connecting participant welfare families wit mentor families in the community. The purpose of OFS is to help people move from dependency on the welfare to independency and self-sufficiency.
