The Gow School is a special place. The school is filled with professional, caring and extraordinary staff to enhance young mens lives who are dyslexic. These teachers and staff enhance the strengths while addressing the language based differences by using Reconstructive Language Therapy. They also identify the strengths that each student has in regard to student government, athletics, and all the arts. As the mother of a young man who felt at home after 1 day at Gow and as a dyslexic trained teacher I cannot say enough great things about Gow. Our family's wonderful memories of Gow are with us forever. Above all else, it is a community of educators, students and families that care about recognizing ones fullest potential and of students who learn to advocate for themselves.

The work I do now as a professional dyslexia teacher was influenced by the great teachers at Gow. The happiness and growth of my son was strengthened by his years at Gow and the devotion of his teachers.

I wish there were more schools like The Gow School that would be available to address the needs of large numbers of dyslexic children who suffer every day.

This is a wonderful place. As an academic child psychiatrist (married to a professor of special education) I had long known of Gow's reputation. When it became time for us to find a school for our son, a brilliantly talented athlete/musician with dyslexia, for whom school had been a soul-killing experience, we turned to Gow. Our expectations and hopes were exceeded. What makes Gow great? * A commitment to excellence on the part of faculty and staff that is communicated to the students. Great teachers expect great work. * A sense of decency, morality, and kindness. * A sensitivity to the social and emotional needs of the students. * Fantastic facilities in a stunningly beautiful setting. * A curriculum that is informed by both tradition and cutting-edge knowledge. Our son blossomed at Gow, as a student, athlete and musician. Most importnat of all, he came to Gow feeling stupid and left with a life of the mind.

Not only does The Gow School change the lives of its students, it also changes the lives of its teachers. The Gow School made me the teacher and educator I am today. No experience in Graduate or Undergraduate school, no workshop or seminar did more to help me understand how to reach students or understand how the brain functions than teaching at the Gow School. It is a resource for students surely, however it serves the broader educational landscape and profession as well.
