As a graduate I can tell you this is a fabulous school and community that is committed to the student. Without a dought the school is first class in every way, from its academics’ to sports there is a sense of pride for both school and student.

Gow was the answer we had searched years for. Our son has struggled with dyslexia from the first day of school. We found Gow in his Junior year and it has changed his life. His confidence and self esteem have never been stronger and his academic results are the best they've ever been. Gow understands how to teach children with language based learning disabilities. Before Gow, our son said "I just want to know what it feels like to be successful". Gow has given him his wish and we couldn't be more thankful.

Gow changed my life and my thinking. I came to Gow as a Junior who was flunking out of high school. I took a senior year and a post graduate year. I entered college and finished in 5 years, making Dean's list my final year. My brain made a change from negative to positive when I went to Gow. I went from thinking I had a disability to realizing I had an asset. I still think that way today and am grateful that I had the opportunity to attend this great program.

I taught 3 years at The Gow School from 1967 -1970. I interacted with students, faculty, administration, alumni and was always admired the standards of The Gow School. I still hear from former Govians about their success. Gow is one of the world’s finest dyslexia and learning disabilities programs. I was interviewed by then Headmaster, Norman Howard to become a master; Mr. Howard not only taught me the secrets of how to teach, but mentored in every aspect to help improve Gow students. Students were educated as total individuals and taught academically, physically and individuality. I personally recommend The Gow School for any individual that has dyslexia or learning disabilities.

Our son has been at the Gow School for a little over a month, and we are already seeing some positive changes in his behavior, and most especially in his academic achievements. As an older adopted child (7 when adopted), he struggles with processing language, and so Gow's reconstructive language approach seems to be helping him at this early stage. We remain hopeful that his experience will continue to benefit him in myriad ways. The supportive environment of the dedicated Gow staff is working wonders in our estimation!

When our local school system didn't know what to do with our two sons, I had to quickly find other schooling for them. I wanted them to develop skills in reading and writing. Our school system wanted to give them spell checkers and speech programs. I found out about The Gow School from a local parent whose son attended the school. She told me of how her son went into his interview with his head hung low and walked out at Graduation with his head held high and college in his future. I wanted that for my sons. Two of my sons attended The Gow School's College Prepatory program...for three and four years respectively. I have nothing but positive things to say about what The Gow School did for my sons. They benefited greatly from being in a community of like-learners. They no longer felt like the odd men out...just unique and different but nonetheless learners. The comraderie between students of many states and countries was evident from their first days. The techniques used were what my sons needed to grow and prosper as students. It changed their lives when our local schools just didn't know what to do. Best money we ever spent.

I am a former student who graduated from the Gow School and appreciate all the work the faculty and staff have done to help dyslexic students build a solid foundation in order to acheive there future goals in higher education and in life. Being a student with reading and spelling issues, I can attest to the fact that the teaching methods, including small class size and reconstructive language courses, helped me acheive my goals. I continue to use many of the skills I learned at Gow on a day to day basis.

My son spent his high school years at The Gow School. It was the best investment we have ever made. While teaching directly to my son's disability, Gow allowed him to truly know his strengths and weaknesses and how to advocate for himself in preparation for his collegiate step. We are very grateful for the blessings of Gow

My son was 12 years old and struggling in school. We found the Gow School though a educator recommendation. He attended for 2 years and it changed his life. His reading and math skills were greatly improved. He went on to high school with confidence, good grades, and his self-esteem in tack! We are eternally grateful to the dedicated teachers and staff at The Gow School who change the lives of their students one day at a time.
