I'm one of the original founders of Good Sports. Our mission is singlemindedly focused on providing all kids access to organized sports. Since our launch, the situation has become much more dire. More and more sports programs are being cut due to budget constraints. And childhood obesity is on the rise. We can offset the cost of equipment for these programs so that they can expand, adding more kids or cut the costs of participation. In the last 6+ years we have grown from a local to national organization. We've learned a lot. There are many ways to help kids stay active from sailing to little league. While we try to spread the equipment around to different types of sports, we struggle with balancing how we help the most kids. We're very thorough in evaluating programs to ensure that we give to ones with the greatest impact. We are well respected by those who know us, but we struggle with how to continue to raise our awareness with few resources. That said, it is an incredibly bright, forward-thinking, and innovative team. And in a handful of years, we've impacted hundreds of thousands of youth in an incredibly positive way.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...seeing the expansion of programs from seeing the expansion of Providence Little League in a time when other leagues were cutting back to enabling disabled kids to sail with the help of adapted sailboats.
