Job Training, Homeless & Housing

P. O. Box 6068 Hoboken NJ 07030 USA

Good Counsel began when Christopher Bell and Fr. Benedict Groeschel, CFR, saw that there were no homes for single, pregnant women. Young mothers and their babies were literally being abandoned on the streets of New York City. The first home opened in Hoboken, NJ in 1985. By the year 2000, our fifth home specializing in the care of mentally ill pregnant women, was opened.

Today, a national hotline and five homes help pregnant women and women with children regardless of race, creed, age, mental health, drug or alcohol addiction from anywhere. Our 24-hour, national hotline, 800-723-8331, also refers women locally throughout the country for help. We follow-up on families who have stayed in our homes through our Exodus program. Mothers return to school or work while we offer babysitting, in-house Life Skills programs and practical, daily guidance. Good Counsel advocates on behalf of women and their children.
