GlobalCures is a non-profit medical research organization with a mission to help patients find their best treatment options today, share their clinical outcomes and fund promising therapies.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2010. As is too often the case with
pancreatic cancer, it is detected when few viable options remain. Unfortunately, this was the case with my mother-in-law; the cancer had spread beyond the resectable region and chemotherapy remained our only weapon. The chemotherapy options for pancreatic cancer = one, perhaps two if one is strong enough to handle the side effects. For my mother-in-law chemotherapy did not work and by the end of November the cancer had spread to her liver and lungs.

This is where GlobalCures, Inc arrives on the scene. Thanks to my husband's diligent efforts to find alternative cures and treatment options, he happened upon GlobalCures. After numerous discussions, at all hours of the day, we discovered that there were other non-chemotherapy options available. Options that were scientifically sound, but of which doctors were unaware. We implemented a couple of options that were in line with what my mother-in-law was willing to try and were able to reduce her pain to non-existent within a couple of weeks! We tried natural remedies that were not being funded because these compounds were no longer patentable.

GlobalCures fills a niche that is sadly missing in our health care system. They offer patients and their families a place to find scientifically-sound alternative options, a place to share their treatment story (positive and negative, thereby building on the knowledge base for other families), and a place that allows you to keep hoping and fighting.

My mother-in-law passed away at the end of February however she passed peacefully, in full control of her treatment options, and without pain. For that we are indebted to GlobalCures for being there when we needed them most.

My grandmother was diagnosed with a brain tumor about a year and half ago. She was reluctant to go through two rounds of chemo after the fist round failed to work. Our family looked to Global Cures for alternative therapies to treat her brain tumor. Vikas and Vidula were caring and understanding and made suggestions that took the whole family and lifestyle into account. They approached the diagnosis with an overarching outlook rather than a narrow focus, which opened many options and gave a whole picture to the treatment of her brain tumor. They were even ahead of the times, for example a suggestion for changing the chemotherapy schedule was made, which has now been approved.

We consider ourself fortunate and lucky to have found global cures. My mother has metastatic breast cancer and as her children, we are trying our best to take care of her.
Both Vidula and Dr. Vikas provide tremendous support to us as we strive to help our mother. The organization and the
board members are extremely knowledgeable about current treatment options available for cancer patients. We are considering some experimental immune treatments for our mother. The team at global cures is always there to help us make informed decisions. Dr. Vikas is always very helpful and brilliant!

I have volunteered for Global Cures and supported their work for over a year now. I believe in their goals strongly. My mother was not so fortunate in her fight against the desease and I have seen what it does to an individual and their family. I dont want for anyone else to have to go through that. Organizations like Global Cures are going to make a difference in our fight against this desease. I am strong believer in unconventional therapy, but the healthcare system doesn't offer much room to deviate from the standard of care however, with research and evidence helpful treatment options will not be discarded. I am a proud supporter of this organization that finds options for people who seem to have no way out.

I have experienced patients in foreign countries have access to innovative trials and research being done in the United States. They were also given some alternative therapy options that their doctor did not provide them with.

I think organizations like Global Cures are going to play a very important role in our development of treatment options. I believe in their goal and with more support I am confident they will make a difference.

I am battling Stage 4 lung cancer. I've been through 6 chemotherapies and 2 radiations. Phase II chemos are no longer an option for me because large drug companies don't want someone who has been down a long road of treatments. A friend recommended Globalcures for research. Globalcures was incredibly responsive by providing alternative chemo methods that are from smaller companies and independent research teams. Globalcures has given me hope that I may extend my life and enjoy more time with my wife and three teenaged children.

I am the CEO of BioLuminate Inc., a start-up company with a new and compelling approach to detect cancer quickly and more accurately than current procedures, and without the need to remove tissue samples from the patient.

Global Cures would be a significant way to improve access to cancer
patients in our future clinical studies, and significantly speed up the product development process.

Their connections to noted physicians and technical experts, their advisers and Board members, would prove to be a significant benefit to BioLuminate Inc., and all of the future patients who would benefit from our technology.

Global Cures was helpful at identifying some alternate therapies to consider, for a close friend of mine who was suffering with Pancreatic cancer. They watched his progress closely, in a clinical study of a new cancer drug, and provided many helpful ides to support his battle.

The best thing for this organization is to get additional funding quickly. The benefits they offer are too compelling to go unfunded. I see great benefits to speed the development of new therapies. I have significant experience in the drug development business, and the Global Cures model and approach offers the ability to significantly improve the speed of drug discovery and development. Many major pharmaceutical companies move too slowly through the drug development process, and Global Cures can help.

I have worked with the fine folks at Global Cures for the last four years and they have been a very fulfilling four years indeed. Global Cures is a cause dedicated to finding cures and solutions to the cancer problem that we face today. They achieve this not just through medical research but by developing relationships with experts from the various different fields necessary to make change happen: Lawyers, economists, business owners, scientists and survivors and victims' families. I fall into the last category. My father died from brain cancer three years ago and I have been organizing a charity run every year in my home town to raise money for Global Cures, an organization in which my father had the greatest trust. My Dad knew that in order for real change to happen and if there was ever going to be a cure that it would need to come from a group with the foresight to carry it through to the end. Global Cures has that foresight.

Vikas and Vidula Sukhatme are the founders of Global Cures and they are incredibly intelligent and kind. Their dedication is palpable and their support of our annual race has been indefatigable. They are, in ervery sense of the word, a GREAT nonprofit.

What a great idea! Take drugs that have been abandoned or ignored and apply them to diseases that are devastating the world. This is more than an idea this group of dedicated people is actually going out and doing this

I have worked as a volunteer for Global Cures on and off since its inception and had the opportunity to attend one of the early meetings where the goals were laid out and the beginning strategies to attain them were discussed. The goal was simple; to identify, evaluate and eventually fund the best treatments for cancer based solely on scientific data, with no profit incentive. When traditional medicine does not work; Global Cures believes other options are available but at this moment, just beyond reach. There is data that needs to be compiled, organized and developed into clinical trials. The Executive Directors of this organization are ideally suited to make this happen. They are driven by compassion, and seasoned by years of working in academic medicine. Their goals are altruistic and their likelihood of success with some funding is phenomenal given their backgrounds. I feel very fortunate to be involved with this organization. I look forward to volunteering with them in the future on events as they arise.

Ive personally experienced the results of this organization in telephone interaction with people who are just so grateful to have a place to go with their own experiences, or their own concerns. Physicians who have data and patients who have tried "outside the box" therapies are relieved to have an organization of this caliber validate their feelings about possible treatments. It is humbling for me to hear their hope.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

At this point, they are still working toward a first clinical trial. I think the work that has been done so far is outstanding, and there is nothing right now that I would change.

GlobalCures represents the best in philanthropic endeavors. Utilizing already approved drugs for new indications, frequently in combination with other approved medications, has been shown to result in dramatic shrinkage of drug-resistant malignancies. The cost savings to individuals and insurance companies is enormous since the drugs used are off patent and therefore the total cost is markedly reduced. Providing such drugs to the indigent with difficult-to-treat malignancies who have little to no insurance, and cannot afford current chemotherapeutic agents is a blessing to those in need. Ongoing trials are needed to explore additional benefits of new combinations of agents. The pharmaceutical companies in the U.S. have been reluctant to participate or conduct such trials because the medications are off patent (and their financial incentive is greatly reduced). So GlobalCures-Inc has stepped into the void to bring these old-new combinations to the investigative arena. They are to be applauded for their commitment to improving care for our society.

The Great!

increase funding so more trials can be conducted.
