Global Gallery is filled with incredible, handcrafted items from over 40 countries. From jewelry to home decor and fine art, the pieces are one-of-a-kind and well-priced. As a Fair Trade organization that is mostly volunteer run, Global Gallery makes sure that the artists (mostly women in the developing world) are paid fairly and that items are environmentally-friendly. Global Gallery also educates patrons about various arts traditions and cultures through a number of free educational programs. I learn something new, find something beautiful, and feel more connected to people throughout the world during every visit.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
(this question doesn't make sense to me)
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find a way to increase funding and donations for operations and educational efforts.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
how incredibly beautiful pieces and traditions are that are represented. With 20 years of such powerful work, I have never believed in an arts organization more (and I have worked in the arts for 15 years).
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
dedicated, hard working, educated, and driven to make a difference through the arts.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Feed millions of artists' families, enrich millions of hearts and minds, and help millions understand that celebrating the arts and working for social justice can go hand-in-hand.
Ways to make it better...
I had more money to spend.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
That it needs more funding to do what it does - as much as possible, the money earned through sales goes directly back to the artist, which means there is a need for more operating support.
One thing I'd also say is that...
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every month
