I first started volunteering with Global Gallery over 4 years ago. The fist time I set foot into the door, I grabbed a volunteer application. The store had a "spirit" that moved me. The staff was friendly, I loved the art pieces, and I felt truly the organization was inviting me to be a part of it. So, I joined and have been with Global Gallery ever since. This organization is special in the community, not only with its mission, but with the experience it can provide for others. It has given me a purpose in this city and in my life.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working personally with our artisans Bolivia- that is meeting the crafters who make the products. Also, working and volunteering with Community Outreach events, such as our International Dinner that served over 500 people last year in one evening.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

seek more funding.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the vast effects it has had only my life. I've been educated in new ways to think about the everyday choices I make. I now make different choices than I used to.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

caring people from all walks of life, looking to enrich their lives and others.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Update all the computer equiptment, remodel all the buildings ,and seek to buy at least one of them, and most importantly, provide a salary for our Director and bonuses for all the staff and gifts for all the volunteers and Board Members.

Ways to make it better...

our Executive Director had a paid salary, so she could spend more time with all aspects pf the organization. Also, if we had funding for technology and operations.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

simply funding and commitment from the community.

Global Gallery is filled with incredible, handcrafted items from over 40 countries. From jewelry to home decor and fine art, the pieces are one-of-a-kind and well-priced. As a Fair Trade organization that is mostly volunteer run, Global Gallery makes sure that the artists (mostly women in the developing world) are paid fairly and that items are environmentally-friendly. Global Gallery also educates patrons about various arts traditions and cultures through a number of free educational programs. I learn something new, find something beautiful, and feel more connected to people throughout the world during every visit.

(this question doesn't make sense to me)

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find a way to increase funding and donations for operations and educational efforts.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

how incredibly beautiful pieces and traditions are that are represented. With 20 years of such powerful work, I have never believed in an arts organization more (and I have worked in the arts for 15 years).

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, hard working, educated, and driven to make a difference through the arts.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Feed millions of artists' families, enrich millions of hearts and minds, and help millions understand that celebrating the arts and working for social justice can go hand-in-hand.

Ways to make it better...

I had more money to spend.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

That it needs more funding to do what it does - as much as possible, the money earned through sales goes directly back to the artist, which means there is a need for more operating support.

Global Gallery does amazing work in the arts, from hands-on crafting workshops to cultural presentations of music and dance to daily guided experiences in its locations. I love the community spirit and building efforts Global Gallery provides and am proud to be a part of the organization!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching patrons expand their connection with people of other cultures. I have seen Tibetan monks, Aztec dancers, Rwandan dancers, Native American drummers and singers, and more, in unconventional settings, receive great honor and respect.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The community it provides to me personally, as well as the lives it enriches through its work. I love the spirit and energy of collaboration!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

diverse, caring, committed, idealistic, supportive, amazing, kind people.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world through its Fair Trade mission and creative approach. I know it could expand its reach in terms of both the number of people it works with worldwide, as well as the number of patrons who can experience a new culture within its walls.

Ways to make it better...

we had enough money to support a full time Executive Director

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

diverse funding sources
