I was inspired to first donate to the Global Fund for Women over 25 years ago. It has grown with grace and integrity, reaching out to women everywhere, offering support through grants and leading by example. The work they do throughout the world is vital to our future. I trust the Global Fund to wisely use my donation to improve women's lives, so they may nurture themselves, their children and the planet.

I have contributed to the Global Fund since 1986, when I first heard one of the Founders speak at the HP Technical Women's Conference. I was so inspired by her compelling presentation. The realization that I was/am one of a very small number of educated, privileged technical women, (then sitting in the air-conditioned comfort of a convention center in the San Francisco Bay area), while so many millions of women around the world have so little and struggle every day has never left me. The Global Fund has been hard at work during these last 25 years. Their relationships and communication with their donors and recipients is thoughtful, thorough, respectful and positive. The Global Fund changes lives and gets results. Women and children are better for it.

It is one of the most supportive organizations to the women's movement I have ever known. GFW has amazing sisterhood approach to the women and women's organizations around the world and their input to positive changes of women is great. I have known this organization for 10 years and admire their work, energy and enthusiasm. I am very happy and proud to be a member of big GFW family.

Akili Dada, a women's leadership organization based in Kenya, has been a grantee of the Global Fund since 2010. We are honored to be recognized and supported by an organization that furthers women's rights around the world. As a startup nonprofit, we have been working on entering the next phase of our story - as we serve more and more young women in Kenya with leadership training, we are proud to know that Global Fund for Women upholds the work we do. They helped fund our 1st annual strategic planning retreat in July 2010 and contributed again this year for an organizational development retreat for our women-led organization. The retreat brought together our staff (from Kenya and the U.S.), board members (from U.S., Kenya, and Uganda), scholars who have received our leadership training, and advisory council members. The result was an intensive and productive session of planning and strategizing.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen our ties with Global Fund as our two organizations work to empower women around the world.

I've personally experience the results of this organization through the incredible support Akili Dada has received from Global Fund for Women and the feeling of community that has come from being a GFW grantee. They have contributed financially to Akili Dada but have also been wonderful supporters through online media and personal contacts. They clearly live the values they promote, and I appreciate their dedication, integrity, and tenacity.

The Global Fund for Women has graciously funded some of Roots of Health's work with women and children in the Philippines. The organization seems truly interested in our work and we really appreciate the fact that they are willing to fund existing projects. When contacted their staff have been friendly and efficient. As a grantee our organization, we have also received a list of possible donors, which has been helpful in our fundraising efforts.

that their donation has allowed us to continue our work in under-served communities in the Philippines. With it we have been able to keep providing reproductive health classes to mothers and teens, clinical services, nutritional support to the women and young people that we serve. Thank you GFW!

Yevgeniya Kozyreva: Global Found for Women is one of few structures in the world which purposefully and on a regular basis supports women's groups working on promotion of the female rights. At support Global Found for Women our group had an opportunity to organize women's organizations of Kazakhstan for a writing of the first and second alternative reports under the CEDAW Convention; to develop the bill « About the equal rights for women and men of Republic Kazakhstan » and to lobby for its acceptance in Parliament. This progressive, vital work for citizens of our country would be impossible without advisory and financial support Global Found for Women.

Global Fund for Women is a well-known organization in the region of South Caucasus. It is known as an organization assisting local women’s organizations and initiative groups to develop their capacities and through that to empower other women in the region. With the assistance of Global Fund for Women many women in Armenia developed their career skills, found jobs, have participated in the trainings on women’s rights and initiated their own projects and activities. The presence of GFW in our region is making a real difference and bringing very positive changes in the lifestyles of ordinary women. Thank you for empowering women and making them stronger!

Global Fund for Women for many years has been helping women in my part of the world i.e. Central and Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union. Their activity is deeply valued by women in such countries as Poland, Ukraine or Georgia as Global Fund is supporting feminist initiatives, also those not formally registered and those acting on a grass-root level. They were working with women in our region when we were in a transition period after the fall of totalitarian regimes and also now when because of the economic crisis only the biggest organizations are able to meet the requirements of the European funding. An example of a project funded by the Global Fund is South Baltic - Violence Free Zone which allowed to create better support for women victims of domestic violence in our region. The process of granting the funds is very open and transparent and I have often heard that the Global Fund is more a group of friends for the women's groups than a founder.

Observing the effects of the GFW funding I can see how many organizations could survive, develop new capacities or travel to learn new skills and to build networks. The GFW is a true feminist funder which really cares about women and is a partner not a beurocratic distributor of grants.

Global Fund for Women is a wonderful organization that supports women's advocacy organizations around the world. What makes their work unique is the way that they connect women's organizations that are doing innovative work to uplift marginalized women with the necessary funds to further enhance their capacity to initiate change. Rather than choosing to fund projects or groups that are of interest to them, they really listen to what women leaders around the world are saying they need and envision. Global Fund for Women decides to support the solutions and initiatives that have been locally innovated by women's groups. More non-profits should follow their model--listening to and supporting local women's initiatives--rather than trying to design their own initiatives from afar, lacking a whole, integrated understanding of the complex issues that affect women's human rights.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the work that I do. I work with local women's groups who are creating solutions to issues of climate change, food, land, and water around the world, and I recognize that if we can find a way--as Global Fund for Women has--to connect innovative women leaders with better resources, these women can be true trailblazers of change.
