Givology really provides a unique experience and puts a twist on the general form of volunteering. Instead of being given menial work, Givology gives even interns the chance to be part of the bigger changes and provides volunteers with a greater sense of importance. It truly is a great experience.

One of the biggest problems in the non-profit industry is the lack of transparency. The overhead and operational cost for the big non-profits exceeds what most "for-profit' companies today face. As a volunteer-run organization, all proceeds go directly to the projects and/or children. Simply put, they deliver results. I was hesitant to donate money to other charities, primarily because you never know how far your dollar is going. For every dollar you donate, seventy cents probably goes towards operational costs. Givology aims to provide short-term impact to children and projects in need. When you donate to Givology's projects, you can be certain that every dollar is being put into the pockets of children in need.

Volunteering with Givoloy has been unlike any volunteer experience I've ever had - in the best way possible. Not only is the team made up of incredibly passionate people, but there exists a collaborative and creative spirit which transcends the geographic separation of our team members. In my time with Givology I've been able to participate in (and occasionally even lead) many creative projects and feel not only as though I've made a tangible difference in the global community and lives of the students we touch, but that I've also gained greater sense of self and purpose. Volunteering with Givology has by far been one of my best decisions this entire year!

Givology is a most extraordinary organization. It provides a true connection between donors and the ones receiving the help, manages to make the greatest impact out of all sized donations, and harnesses the power of the internet for good. The people that I have worked with here have been extremely inspiring. Despite of having full-time school or work outside of Givology, they all manage to still provide Givology with all of their dedication.

I was recommended to Givology through a friend who thought it would be a perfect match for me and she was right. I love the way that the organization is personalized and the donor gets to choose specifically where his or her money goes - whether it's a student or a project. I also like that Givology encourages all size donations, so that everyone feels like they can give back and make a difference.

I believe that education is the most effective way to achieve development in any country. And that is exactly what Givology does. The staff is extremely dedicated to making education, a fundamental human right, equally accessible to students around the world. The organization has already served thousands of children in over 26 countries through the help and contribution of 2,600+ donors. When you educate a child, he or she will use that knowledge to combat gender equality, improve health conditions, voice opinions, and better his or her local community. I think the innovative, high-impact projects and scholarships truly transform students because it gives them an alternative to a life of poverty. Givology has provided me with hands-on experience and contribute to a great cause. I wholeheartedly encourage others to join the organization and experience for themselves the wonderful work it does.

Givology prides itself on offering complete transparency to donors on where their money is going. Its partnerships with amazing grassroots nonprofits are all personally vetted, diligenced, and carefully chosen. When reading through the student and project profiles, I cannot help but feel like I'm immersed in the stories of those thousands of miles away. Getting involved in Givology is the best decision anyone of any age could make in their volunteering lives.

This organization is truly one of a kind in the ideals it is pioneering - it sits at the cross-section of the future of philanthropy and the potential for individual change to occur on a personal level across continents. There are a few distinguishing factors: 1) It is crowdsourcing donations from all individuals: not specific to gender, age, economic status 2) Donations span from $1 to thousands of dollars: so giving back can start small 3) Informational transparency is the crux of its mission: the free flow of information from students/ non profit grassroots partner to donor is all publicly displayed and scanned into updates online. Letters that are handwritten by children are shown in their original form. Authenticity, accountability, and information disclosure are the exchanges for a donor's time and money 4) Person-to-person direct connections are established: donors scan and choose their students based on their own personal reasons and communication among other donors and across Givology staff/ Givology partners / and Givology sponsored students exist on Givology's platform 5) Volunteerism and giving what you can is the central mission: the core team is a base of 20-25 volunteers who have given Givology countless hours of their "extra time" ... spread across the nation and internationally, Givology leverages people's talent and small dollar denominations to achieve the highest impact 6) Scaling and continual diligence: Givology's biggest struggle is having chapters be self-governing and not just fundraising arms. How to best offer continual diligence for its grassroots partners and also continual internal growth is difficult without adequate dedicated full-time staff and funding for Givology Fellows to go to partner sites directly for research and data recording.

Givology is truly an outlier among its peers. Its ability to be able to not only succeed but thrive in the niche market it has carved out shows just how well positioned it is going forward. Givology's approach to alleviating poverty through online giving and directly connecting donors to students and grassroots projects around the world is a shining example of altruism in practice.

As a teenager, I knew I wanted to enable children in developing nations to receive the quality of education I enjoy. The question for me was, "Which non-profit do I join out of the thousands of social enterprises?" So began my search for a non-profit that was 100% volunteer-based and made giving easy, transparent, and rewarding. A non-profit that did not passively funnel money but cared about creating long-term personal relationships between sponsors and students. Givology was one of the very few non-profits that met these conditions that I had in mind. Beginning as a development intern, I quickly learned that there was much more to Givology. The team atmosphere at Givology is so incredibly collaborative, and I have met some of the most supportive and amazing individuals here in this organization; even though we are all volunteers and are either in school or are working professionals, our passion for giving is unmatched. Volunteers of all ages are equally welcome to contribute. I knew I wanted a hands-on experience, and few people my age to have the opportunity to run non-profit. Givology truly surpassed all my expectations for a non-profit, and I know I will be involved with this organization far beyond college.

Givology's all-volunteer, student-focused model is incredibly effective at bringing to light critical issues in development and guiding donors to causes that they can connect with and people who will accomplish great things with their aid. Givology punches well above its weight.
