My family spent a week at GKTW last January when my daughter was granted a Make-A-Wish. The experience truly changed our lives. After my daughter diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, our lives were turned upside down. A week at GKTW world changed that. We smiled non-stop, our daughter danced and sang again and we felt normal for the first time in a very long time. There were no doctors, hospitalizations, poking, or prodding. We met other familes like us and made some forever friends through the experience at GKTW. This is definitely the most magical, amazing place on earth.

We were lucky enough to be granted a week at GKTW last year, for my son who was recovering from a bone marrow transplant. We visited from the Uk and had the most amazing week, surrounded by kind, gentle and understanding volunteers. We were given the chance to be together as a family, after three years of constant hospital stays. It was the start of our "new life" and the staff and especially the volunteers, made sure that we were made to feel special and above all, made to feel normal once more. The whole family were touched by he kindness and compassion of everyone at the vilage. We have since been back, as volunteers, in the hope that we can "pay forward" the kindness and love that we experienced. My son, now 16 (and fully recovered) has also volunteered as he feels he wants to give back. This is the most amazing place, where you get the chance to be able to relax, without constantly having to explain why your child is "different"... certainly a life changing experience for our family.

Our week at Give Kids the World was even more than we expected. Our 3 girls loved walking out of our villa in the morning and playing on a dream of a playground, going horseback riding, or having a turn on the carousel. While we were at the amusement parks they talked about the amazing activities Give Kids the World had planned for us that night.
For our family Give Kids the World is a little slice of heaven. A place where our family could all be together to relax, laugh, play and make memories. Memories that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Words can not express the amazing kindness and generosity that Give Kids The World gave us during such a discouraging time in our lives. My son was granted a wish that consisted of 8 days in Orlando seeing all of the amazing sights and participating in the joys of the surroundings. He, along with his older sister and brother only wanted to stay and spend the days at GKTW. It is so magical and carefree. Smiles were placed on every face in my family when we were so used to tears and worry. I wish every sick child could experience such relief from every day doctors appointments, poking and proding....to this day, my son will sit and look at his photo album and say "Mom, can we go back some day?" God Bless EVERYONE involved in such a gift to those of us in need of a "brighter day".

Sometimes I wish there were better words in the English language to describe something so wonderful as Give Kids the World.

To be express this place with a mere word doesn't seem good enough, it would never do it justice.

So I can scratch the surface  with just a few adjectives
to describe this place.

Give Kids the World Village is compassionate, inspiring, remarkable, heartwarming, lovely, complete, charming, bittersweet yet hopeful, cosmic, precious, inviting, magical, incredible, delightful, graceful, captivating and special.

For this place to be described properly, it would be to mix the collective of humanity at its best with the magic of childhood and bottle it into one perfect mixture where miracles happen every day and life is at very best.

Give Kids the World should be described as the most special place on earth.

We have been to Give Kids the World twice for two of our children who received Make-A-Wises. It is heaven on earth for everyone in the family for different reasons. It's so much fun for the kids with ice cream available all the time even for breakfast!! The pools are beautiful and Dino-Putt is really fun. I could write all day about it. For parents it is the joy of watching children who have had to do so much in their short lives just watch them have FUN without having to worry about the cost. It is very unreal while you're there. It's so magical and lovely. Cannot say enough. Words just aren't good enough.

It is truly a JOY to volunteer at Give Kids the World. The grounds and facilities are amazing and it truly is a magical place. I have done all volunteer jobs there from gift giving to the ice cream palace and always leave with my heart so full. Take your children, take your friends, take your family and give your time to this wonderful organization. They will leave there feeling like they gave you a gift.

Review from Guidestar

I work for Perkins Restaurants and have done fund raising for this organization for over 15 years. I was lucky enough to visit the Village and do a volunteer shift a few years ago. It is an amazing, happy place dedicated to terminally ill children AND their families. To be able to bring smiles to the faces of these families that have endured more doctors and hospitals than anyone should have to is priceless!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing first hand the smiles of families being able to be together in a setting other than a hospital.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I can't think of any changes - this Village is a wonderful place!
