GASKOV CLERGE FOUNDATION
As a Roman Catholic priest, my whole life is dedicaded to serve God in my neighbors. I wish there were more non-profit organizations like the GCF. The work the GCF has been doing is unique and much needed in all Haiti, especially in the City of Les Cayes and its surrounding regions. With love, respect and compassion, the GCF provides free health care to the least fortunates, help kids that would probably never go to school get an education, provides clean water to the poor, etc... After the earthquake, the GCF was one of the first organizations to be on the ground in Haiti to help out. With its project to build the first modern hospital in Les Cayes, the GCF will continue to serve the people of southern Haiti while providing them with dignified health care. I am so grateful to Mrs. Cosy Joseph for her dedication to serve. As a Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Palm Beach and also much involved in doing medical mission work in my home town in Haiti, the GCF is a good example for me of what it means to be good steward in the way that its members give their time, talents and treasures to serve the least fortunate in Haiti. Thanks GCF! Keep up the good work!

This is one of the best organizations to volunteer with. As a GCF volunteer, you get to serve many in great need; you get to work a lot; yet the mission organizers still manage to show the volunteers an amazingly surprising side of Haiti and her people.
WAY TO GO GCF!!! I look forward to many more years of education and serving our brothers and sisters!

my trips to haiti,as part of gcf, have made haiti as my third home.being the only neurologist available for the week at the island,it has been a rewarding experience, seeing patients, helping the local physicans with diagnosing complex neurological conditions without the help of any testing, helping challenged children at the orphanage get seizure free, teaching and educating the doctors, have all been experiences which help me in my utmost goal--TO SERVE.the team spirit that we have, overcomes all barriers of climate and poverty.i have been there for the past 3 years, and each year we have been successful in giving better care.for those physicians with similar goals, this is our ultimate experience of service, compassion for which we have been made.

I am a Registered Nurse and had participated in the GCF's last trip to Haiti (July 2009). My experience with Gaskov Clerge Foundation was unforgetable. I encountered nothing but professionalism at it's best! The compassion, caring and selflessness of the entire team was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Not only was it hard work but it was enjoyable! The participants and the organization itself demonstrated excellence in coordination of effort, quality of care and comaradarie.

GCF is very caring, people oriented, and passionate about their purpose. I wish them the best of luck in their continued endeavor and plea to alleviate the suffering of the Haitian people. I love the Foundation and I try to attend every year with my daughter who is a recent medical graduate. Hopefully my son who will be graduating soon as a physician can join us in the near future.

I wish we continue to have unity among the professionals that attend the mission on a yearly basis. L'Union Fait La Force!!!

I wanted to volunteer my services in Haiti but I wanted to be a part of an organization that was well organized. I was introduced to GCF. An Itenary package is prepared for you.You have a chance to review the package and decide if this is what you are volunteering for. The Pre-Mission orientation, volunteers get to meet each other before the day of departure. Receiving telephone calls and e-mail over the last few days before departure is quite reassuring. Arriving at the Airport with other volunteers and being escorted through baggage claims to your transportation, where you are provided with water and a snack. Arriving at your destination to find the organizers awaiting your arrival. The exitement of want to start seeing those people that we are there for heightens.Getting our assigned area, experiencing the careful planning that went into the great accomodation, meals and transportation, together contribute to us feeling appreciated. First night conference is oh so exciting, knowing what we will be doing the next day and how we will be going about it. Post conference after each days work is great also, what we did and how we are going to make it better the next day.Did I mention breakfast, I will have to say the best oatmeal that anyone has ever had is served there. For you to know how good it is you would have to volunteer with Gaskov Clerge Foundation.

GCF is an organization run by volunteers creating little overhead cost. The organization is run by Native born Haitians who want to better their former hometown of Les Cayes by providing basic medical care and sometimes surgery free of charge. For one week per year they provide a necessary opportunity for basic care in mobile clinics set up in churches and schools to as many as 3,000 adults and children. Most importantly they utilize local doctors and nurses in their mobile clinics as well as community members for logistics and transportation. They also hold forums for local doctors with their US doctors to assist in providing them with current practice trends and treatments.
