The Future of Flight provides a wonderful "hands on" educational experience through their project based curriculum called "Flights of Innovation." This educational experience provides students with a learning foundation regarding the power of innovation culminating in a state of the art facility. We can all take "flight" by watching our "future" capture the power of innovation.

I was the Boeing project manager involved in pulling together this unique public, private and non-profit collaboration. Working together with others, we developed an exciting and relevant mission, the goal of which is to excite people about innovation, and more importantly the process of innovation. Engaging the the next generation of leaders to take interest in STEM and innovation is our prime focus. Asked to serve on the board, I was involved in a number of committees, and eventually selected to be its chair. It is an honor to serve with this dedicated and hard-working group of people who have great ideas and leverage our funds to maximize impact to the future.

Two areas: Education and Exhibits. The Flights of Innovation Education program is leading edge, and augments the classroom teacher's curriculum. It uses our exhibits to give hands-on experiences for the students.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The dedication, and talent, the board brings forward in helping us serve our mission and reach our goals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

...would...be the genesis of change for future leaders to develop innovative solutions for some of the global challenges facing us...by exciting and enbabling today's students to realize: we can.

The Future of Flight is an excellent vehicle to stimulate the interest of chilfren in Science, Math, Engineering and Aviation. It is also Boeinng's Visitors Center and attracts both local schools and adults but a national and international audience. The facility works to celebrate innovation and allows visitors to both observe and participate aviation and related fields. Many museums focus on the past, the Future of Flight loooks ahead.

Great facility and opportunity for our local community and out of state guests to immerse themselves into a unique learning environment. A visit can excite and stimulate ones interest in aviation and what the future might hold for the next generation of airplane builders and designers. To this end the Future of Flight Foundation has created a fresh curriculum based program that allows our local schools and their students to participate real time with Future of Flight and experience what aviation does and will offer in the future. Great model for other non-profits to consider.

The Future of Flight Foundation's vision is to give wings to innovative thinking. It has developed an education program to engage a wide range of middle school students in innovative thinking and problem solving. This unique program begins in the classroom, moves to the Future of Flight Aviation Center and then back to the classroom. Working in teams in an immersive and experiential learning experience, students solve real-world problems and research careers relevant to these issues.

The Future of Flight stimulates the imagination of young people. Here kids learn how to think. As it becomes more accepted with the local school districts and as more exhibits are completed, I believe the attendance will increase further.

its outreach program, where students participate in team problem-solving projects. Also, some of our students designed a walk-in wind tunnel for a real, hands-on experience. The completion of that project awaits full funding.
