This festival is everything its cracked up to be. It is homegrown and run by two of the nicest guys on the planet. They really care about helping film makers get their art seen and appreciated.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing many wonderful and interesting films I would have never had the opportunity to enjoy.

I am a former grant writer for the San Francisco Frozen Film Festival. My additional responsabilities at this organization included sponsorship development, partnership building, as well as working on marketing/communication projects. I have been involved with the organization on an full time basis for four months.

it's yearly independant film festival. Talented artist were given the opportunity to expose their work to the savy San Francisco audience. This event allows them to expose their work, establish networks with other film makers and obtain media attention.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working for an organization that is "all about the artists" and their work. The wide range of motion pictures they screen tackle different important subjects like the environment, and political/social issues and many more.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all passionate about film, they all defended the idea of creating without boundaries. All the people involved are volunteers and take time in their every day life to be involved and assist the organization in it's development and expansion.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

This amount would enable the organization to become on of the main independant Festivals in the US like Sundance. More money = more projects = more artists = more films = more help = more media = more succes stories!

Ways to make it better...

we would have been able to organize additional events : fundraisers, concerts, film projections. These projects were unable to organize due to a lack of financial assets.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

expand the organization without financial assistance. it is extremely difficult to develop such a festival while depending only on volunteers. A solid organization needs a solid structure, which is only possible if someone works full-time on the festival.

I worked for the Frozen Film Festival for 4 months, where I was in charge of finding sponsorship and writting grants. This was a very enriching experience! Firstly due to the opportunity to work for&with;some great people, who are truely involved and motivated by their festival and the arts in general. Secondly, I also had the chance to be present during the main event (opening night + festival), and see with my own eyes the fantastic job the Frozen Film Festival is doing, and why it's so important for everyone that such a festival exists and expands to something even bigger. What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the opportunity to discover a new aspect of the film industry. I am a big fan of cinema, but thanks to the Frozen FIlm Festival, I have seen extraordinary movies and documentaries. The selection is perfect, there is definitely something in it for everyone

truely involved and motivated by their works. They want to highlight various aspects of our society during the 3day festival's screenings.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be one of the most interesting independant film festivals, giving the chance to more and more artists to be exposed to a much broader audience, and provide them with media attention they otherwise would have never had.

This is a great alternative film festival here in San Francisco that packs a punch with its artistic film categories and affordable movie tickets. I've gone to the festival since it began in 2006 and the opening night party and the animated shorts are my favorites.

This is an impeccably run organization, from the opening night gala, to the peerless programming. The founders are exceptionally motivated, and have a great love of the arts. Some film organizations seem to care more about established stars, but this festival really loves the little filmmaker. An absolute blast to attend, with memorable films and speakers.
