Friendly Center is great asset to the community, providing many services to people who need them the most. As a volunteer in one of the tutoring programs, I have worked with many students over the past couple of years, and the program provides elementary, middle school, and high school students access to diverse group of tutors on a wide range of subject matter, as well as access to school supplies and computers, which many of the students do not have at home.

Friendly Center lives up to its name in every sense. But more than that it is a one-stop shop for the things that make life work well at this time in Orange County. Whether the need is for food, shelter, counseling, help with school work, English language access, emergency services , or a comforting shoulder to lean on, there is someone who has the expertise to share where it is needed. The demand for the Friendly Center services in neighboring communities attests to its reliability and success. Seeing is believing, and those who participate in any capacity become believers. Our community is truly blessed with the informed and caring service of Friendly Center.

Over 15 year ago I became involved with the Friendly Center because as a family therapist I was witness to the struggles of individuals and families. So I got involved and was on the board of directors for 9 years. The agency has always been open to listening to the communities needs and making appropriate adjustments in order to promote education, self-sufficientcy and family stabilization. The community events have united families in positive activities and have been part of the traditions of the neighborhood. While I am no longer on the board of directors, my involvement as continued to be an integrated part of the many volunteers that it takes to run programs and raise money so that Friendly Center can continue it's mission. The experience has changed me for the better and I am grateful.

One of the greatest non-profits in all of southern California. Excellent service provider, fabulous staff and the best volunteers anywhere. Consistancy and hope are but a few words to describe Friendly Center. See it's in the title. :-)

The Friendly Center (TFC) represents everything I love about Orange County: a collective sense of social and civic responsibility paired with a strong dedication to improving the lives of those in need.

The best part? TFC makes it EASY. You don't have to go out and search for volunteer
opportunities. You simply sign up on their site (http://www.friendlycenter.org/volunteer.php) and they coordinate everything for you. They tell you: what the volunteer options are, where to go, how to get there, and what to do. It's never been easier to make a difference in the life of a child, family or senior in need.

The Friendly Center as been a source of support for needy families in Orange for many years. With its dedicated and energetic leadership and staff, it has grown to the point where there are two facilities in Orange, one in Placetia and a new one in Garden Grove. Yearly assistance includes supplimental food in farious forms, tutoring for school age children including computer classes, family couceling and much more. Special holiday events provide boxed meals including turkeys for Thanskgiving, and at Chistmas time, families receive toys, food and a visit with Santa for the chilldren. As a member of the board of directors for seveeral years, I can atest to the fact that the Friendly Center is filling a growing need in the community with the many beneficial programs made avaailable by the staff and volunteers.

Everyone needs a helping hand a some point. For families with no where else to turn, there is Friendly Center. The great thing about Friendly Center is that it gives families in crisis a real chance to get back on their feet by offering an extensive array of services to deal with all of the problems a family is facing. My personal favorite program is the after school tutoring for kids from Kindergarten through high school, because education is so important and a little help and attention can make a big difference. I also love Friendly Center because the dedicated staff members serve with real care and compassion, not just because they are doing a job. Friendly Center makes the most of every dollar they receive so it's a great place to see your charitable contributions being put to good use.

The Friendly Center serves the central Orange County area in many ways. Not just education programs for adults and children, not just job seeking assistance, not just emergency and scheduled food assistance, not just counseling, not just a smile and a hug, but a comprehensive plan to meet the needs of the low income community and move them on to a better future. I have been with the Friendly Center for many years, first as a client, then as an employee, now as a board member. They have been with me from crisis through success. Please volunteer to help this holiday season. Friendly Center welcomes it's volunteers and helps each one have a positive experience.

I have had the privilege of serving on the board as well as being a volunteer for many years for this outstanding organization. It serves such an important need in our community and success stories abound on an almost daily basis. They have a caring and understanding staff and leadership who deals with people in need in a most compassionate manner. Anyone who has been involved with Friendly Center, whether as a client, board member, or volunteer, has had their lives enriched!
