My son won an essay contest and he and my daughter participated in the Little Warriors Surf Camp in La Jolla, CA. My husband has been deployed a lot and I haven't been the best "sports mom," but this camp built their confidence and they had FUN!!! It was a wonderful event and a great organization. I cannot thank them for everything.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

making children smile! making parents smile! giving children confidence and self esteem GREAT instruction for surfing emphasis on physical activity taking care of the families of our wounded and fallen

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

get the word out on the East Coast- these folks do great things!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching the children as they worked hard and got up on their surfboards. They beamed!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

WONDERFUL! Giving and compassionate.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Make children all over the country smile and enjoy a day of fun- and help our military families facing some tough times with wounded/fallen service members.

Ways to make it better...

can't think of anything!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

My son attended the Little Warriors Surf Camp in La Jolla this summer and had a blast. He was thrilled to learn how to surf and so excited to be given his own board that we ended up staying after so he could surf a little bit more. His only criticism was the lunch, which he didn't really care for, and that some of the other kids who attended that day "weren't very nice" (his words).

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

AWESOME! The surf instructors and helpers were enthusiastic, kind, supportive, and great with the kids.

Ways to make it better...

we'd had more time to surf and practice what we learned!
