Our family has been involved with the FLCT since our son was 4 years old. He is 13 now and has benefited enormously from his exposure to theater and to this group in particular. The staff is both talented and professional and their energy and positive attitude is contagious. After watching our son enthusiastically participate in classes for several years he finally felt confident enough to audition and nailed a great part at age 10. We haven't been able to keep him off the stage since! Through the years we have become aware that this nurturing and supportive staff has fostered an entire group of young people who share a special bond that is open and caring, that embraces diversity and promotes self confidence and awareness. We love FLCT!

I am a former board member and volunteer coordinator for FLCT, but prior to that, I was a parent with a child who benefitted greatly from his involvement and where our love affair with this organization began.
FLCT is unique in that it brings quality theatre to the masses in Broward County,
Florida. FLCT's productions are often breathtaking with gorgeous sets, talented actors, professional costumes but they are always, always magical due to the fact that the magic is made by children and their families both onstage and behind the scenes. FLCT's staff is committed to the whole child, developing their skill but more importantly, guiding them in living lives as true artists with leadership, compassion and imagination. I would and always do recommend everyone to bring their children to a production and to the classes as well.

My son's growth and development as well as other children that we have know through the years. I made lasting friendships and the support of an incredible community of people.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Grant them a theatre of their own so that they could expand their much needed hand over a state so sorely lacking in funding for the arts.

Fort Lauderdale children's theater is a wonderful organization that creates opportunities and touches many. The children who participate in the plays as actors, stagehands, makeup crew, and lighting crews learn so much about the process and teamwork that makes a successful production. The plays I have seen show that there is so much effort and care that goes into every aspect of the plays. Pirates of Penzance, Cinderella, and Pippin were just some of the great shows that I have seen. I love that children of all ages are included in the plays and they all have a great time.
As a former actor who participated at the theater, I know that the experience is a great opportunuty to explore the arts and build confidence.

My experience at the theater as a former actor gave me an oportunity to meet others with the same interests. As a patron, I see that the theater is still making a great diiference in the commmunity by offering the arts to children and their family and friends.

If there were anything I could change for the theater, I would expand the donation pool and build another performance theater for the children.

An amazing and talented bunch of children and young adults. Very entertaining. I look, forward to each production. My favorites to date have been Pirates of Penzance, Cinderella and Aladdin. A wonderful family oriented evening for my children and I to attend. Keep up the good work....

The Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre (or FLCT) is an amazing place for children who are interested in the arts. We have been around for over 60 years. The teachers are fantastic and have wonderful theater experience. And, for those who love to be on stage, FLCT offers at least four programs annually that allow kids to perform (and parents and alumni can join in the summer production).

The Fort Lauderdale Childrens Theater is amazing! My children have been going to classes, summer camp and performing in plays for over six years. They can't wait to get there, and never want to leave. The have learned more at FLCT than they have in any classroom. My girls are always made to feel important whether they land a lead role or just a small minor part. We have moved over 25 miles away, but still make the effort to come here at least once a week!

One summer, I could not afford to send my girls to summer camp, so I never even called. Someone at the Fort Lauderdale Childrens Theater called me asking why I hadn't signed my children up for summer camp. When I told them that my husband had lost his job, they offered us a scholarship and made it affordable. You have never seen two happier girls! Telling my gilrs that they would be able to go to FLCT for summer camp was such a good feeling.

I have attended many performances of the Ft. Lauderdale Children's Theatre for over 10 years. Every performance has exceeded my expectations and surprised me with continues displays of talent and ingenuity. It is a wonderful organization and gives countless young people opportunities they would not find elsewhere. They serve as an invaluable resource for theatre experience and exposure.

My daughter chose a career path in theatre (costume design) as her life's work. She received a full scholorship from the University of N.C. School of the Arts, including room, board, books and fees. She graduates this Spring. She was also able to work at the Sante Fe Opera for the last two summers.

My daughtes have had the pleasure of being a part of the Fort Lauderdale's Children's Theatre for one year now. I am a single mom and if it wasn't for the support of such wonderful people, they would not have been able to be a part of such a positive program. The instructors have taught them to be confident and sure of who they are. This theatre has truly made a difference in the way they look at life now. I am really grateful for all the wonderful people that work at Fort Lauderdale's Children's Theatre.

Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre (FLCT) is a place for family. Not only can one participate in aesthetic aspect of putting on a show that could go one-on-one with a Broadway production, they make you feel welcome and like you have a place. A meaning. It is at FLCT that I learned that being myself and expressing myself will take me a long way! I have friends that I will honestly keep for the rest of my life. I've never been to a more amazing place, a second home, in my life. FLCT has changed the lives of tens of thousand of children and adults throughout their 59 years of existence, and I'm one of them. I've never been happier to be a statistic.

I had the pleasure of attending the Broadway series of the Florida C hildrens Theatre on February 5, 2011. From the beginning the quality of the performances, ambiance of the surroundings and the superior professionalism exhibited by both the
Performers and the adult mentors was clearly
apparent. I enjoyed the entire experience and would highly recommend this organization. Thank you.
