FLCT offers wonderful classes and events. The staff is always professional. They strive to serve the children and teens in the community. They do their best to instill self-confidence in their students through proper training. They are liberal with praise while encouraging students to do their best. My 14 year old daughter has taken classes, been a cast member and crew member in various productions for the past TEN years. FLCT is a fabulous place to learn about theater in Broward County.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

enrolling my children in classes. Allowing my child to audition for theater roles.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

build them a proper theater.

Very well known group in the community that has always held a high regard for their kids and productions that are always sold out. I have known many children in the program through the years and many who have pursued continuing their interest in the field due to the devotion and talent that FLCT puts together.

We became involved with FLCT when our youngest son was 11 and he tried out for a part in a show. He did get a part and since then, the theatre has been a family affair. Both of our sons have performed in many shows and have participated in outreach events in the community. We are so impressed with FLCT's literacy and anti-bullying programs that they designed and that they teach to at-risk kids within the school system. They never turn away any child who cannot afford their programs. Kids learn critical life skills through FLCT including tolerance, cooperation, team work, discipline and compassion. Our older son's only regret is that he didn't start with FLCT sooner!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

that I've seen how much love and dedication the staff has for the kids and their work. The kids gain so much confidence by being a part of the theatre.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would help them expand their services and obtain a theatre of their own. They've earned it after almost 60 years of serving the south Florida community.

FLCT is a fun place to meet others who love theater! It's a great opportunity for kids to shine. The students meet lifelong friends there and go on to love the Arts for the rest of their lives. Keep the Arts alive through performing and taking classes with FLCT!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the way that many of their students have gone on to study theater professionally and share their love of the arts with others.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

help reach the goal of a new theater / rehearsal space.

FLCT is like another family, another home! Everyone, even the teachers and directors, are amazingly nice and talented when it comes to the art of theater. The shows that they have produced (in which I have personally took part in 2 and in one right now) are SPECTACULAR!
It is simply astounding
in how professional the shows look and how they are created. Everything from costumes, sets, play choices and most of all the directors and actors is so amazing that words can't describe it!
A good example is: I am now taking part in Aida, the current show. Everyone in the cast, the dancing instructor (whos super!) and the director (who is the sweetest lady I have ever met) treats everyone like family. We had alot of group discussions which game everyone a basic gist on whats going on in their cast members lives and beliefs, therefore creating a stronger relationship. The show so far is (of course) amazing so far (its currently in rehearsal) from the actors and their voices to the thrilling choreography!
So is you have the time, come see the show or even check out FLCT yourself! It is an experience you'll never forget!

My daughter has been involved with FLCT for many years. She has taken classes, acted in plays and worked as a crew member in a variety of shows. She has learned many life skills through FLCT including public speaking, team work, time management and memorization. It is a great organization run by professional and caring staff. The group of kids are friendly, funny, talented.

I had the honor of working with Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre as a professional consultant for 2 years. I was amazed that they were 49 years old at that time, but in no time at all, I clearly understood how this organization was able to celebrate so many years.

The staff and board of
directors' dedication and commitment exceeds the majority of organizations I have been affiliated with. The leadership and direction by Janet Erlick is A+++++.

The students love their classes, performances and social interaction. I witnessed so much growth and maturity by these young people.

I will forever be a strong supporter of Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre.

I was part of FLCT for many years. FLCT created a world for my young minds to dream and be inspired. The staff supported and cultivated my imagination, and more importantly, skills that make me who I am today.

The most important take-away from all involved is the learning experience and
environment provided at FLCT. It's much more than memorizing lines and creating props: it's learning of process of an entire production, adaption of history in some cases, and holding oneself accountable.

This is an organization where children and young adults from all walks of life can come together and learn from one another in ways many camps and classes can not provide. A truly unique craft takes place here, through the people involved and the art they create, both tangible and intangible.

Nothing can replace my experience with FLCT, and I have hunch many others, kids and adults alike, can say the same.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the lives that walk away changed and the changes those lives partake in their chosen industry or careers. I have also experienced results in myself. Having the capability to stand in front of hundreds of people and not falter, to support creativity and unique ability in all forms, to hold the ability of project management at such a young age, and so much more.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would provide a integrated marketing communications campaign that would run regionally (in the Broward County area) and virally so any current or potential stakeholders could be aware of such a gem in south Florida.

These kids really put on great shows! The costumes and sets are very professional. The actors have a lot of talent. And, the shows are always a lot of fun. The theater's location in the Galleria is perfect for dinner and a show. Makes for a great date night.
