The Food Empowerment Project's executive director, Lauren Ornelas, presented a wide array of issues related to food justice at my high school. I have also volunteered for the group. My classmates were both fascinated and motivated by Lauren's presentation. They all expressed a desire to get involved with the issues Lauren talked about, particularly environmental racism, and noted that they learned a lot.
