I volunteered in the office of the Florida Keys Children's Shleter and can vouch for the staff's professionalism and concern for children in our community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

learning that the children come first and sadly, that their is real need for its services.

FKCS has been an outstanding partner working with Lutheran Services Florida to provide seamless continuity of care for troubled youth that we both serve. The staff at FKCS has always been responsive and professional in our dealings with them. They have been providing beneficial services for children and families for over a decade. They know their business and have a deep compassion and committment to children and families. Patricia L. Leonard, LCSW Regional Director, LSF/SW

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

relation to children we have placed in their shelter.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their responsiveness, communication, knowledge and experience with the populations served.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

of the highest caliber and professionalism.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

serve more children and families in a traditionally neglected area of the state.

Florida Keys Children's Shelter is the only service of its kind in our area. They have been very creative in working on programs that help reach out to runaways and homeless teens. They are a wonderful and neccessary part of our community!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

how direct the results of what they do are seen. A child now has clothes, food and a place to sleep. A sense of safety, belonging and knowing that someone cares about them.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year
