Even though I joined the FACP Board of Directors only about six months ago, I already feel connected to the organization. The other members of the Board are not only friendly and open, but eager to help and extraordinarily competent. In every way, these great folks comprise a bona fide "working board," with each person being given the opportunity to play to his/her strengths on behalf of the organization.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

enjoying access to top-rate classical music in great locations and free of charge.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

expand the board so that we'd have more connections to those in the Dallas community have the resources to support the FACP.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

knowing that my efforts are making meaningful contributions to the Dallas community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated and enthusiastic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

not only provide a more comprehensive series of free concerts for the Dallas community, but also fill a shameful gap in public school arts education.

Ways to make it better...

there were a more consistent base of financial support for the group.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting the Dallas community to understand the full scope of what we do. While the free concerts at the DMA and the Basically Beethoven Festival are GREAT, so few folks know about the incredible educational programs we provide.

Fine Arts Chamber Players enrishes the Dallas Fort Worth area in many ways. The organization provides professional chamber music concerts free to the public throughout the year. The organization also supports the Dallas are in its numerous educational outreach activities. The organization produces miracles with its carefully managed budget bringing several wonderful, curriculum driven programs into public schools which otherwise would never see professional musicians. The programs are tied to curriculum and are age-specific to engage each child at his or her best level.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The Fine Arts Chamber Players organization is the best kept secret in the DFW area. The FACP provides the music education for children who otherwise would not be exposed to the classical chamber music that is no longer the "most popular" for school age children. The FACP provides music programs and concerts to the community through FREE concerts. There is not any better way to promote chamber music than through the FACP. Everyone that is involved with this organization believes in the education and culturation of the children, the parents and the community to make our area a better place to live throug appreciation of the arts and FACP music. The talents of the staff are evident in the network of musicians that are networked through the organization to provide the BEST of the BEST in music education and performances. The many programs that FACP provide extend throughout the year and are continually improving and growing to meet the wishes of the public. After one participates in one event or concert of the FACP you are captivated by the ongoing work of the organization and you believe in the cause to provide FREE chamber music programs that highlight talent youths of this area who will one day be talent adults in the music business. There is not any better way to understand the mission, the work, the performances of the FACP than to visit one of the events, or go to the web site and see for yourself all the work that the FACP group produces for the children of this community.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

listening to the performances of the children who participate in the FACP programs. I was in awe of how a 10 year child can play a violin and an entire song without sheet music. It was unbelievably fantastic.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them more money.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that this organization benefits the entire community and provides music programs for free through out the year. The performances are top of the line performances that you can only find in music hall concert series.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

exceptionally talented, educated, technically knowledgeable, hard working, dedicated to the programs.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Fulfill the goals and ambitions of the Board and meet the music needs of the children and this community.

Ways to make it better...

the entire city population would have attended and listened to the some of the most musically talented people in this community.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

doing so much with so little funds.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I wish I had heard about the FACP when it first started.

Every excellent expectation of a chamber music concert is met and exceeded when attending a Fine Arts Chamber Players event. The intimacy of the musical moment, the superlative musicianship of the artists, the context in which the musical selections are chosen and shared, the audience energy and appreciation - all lend to complete the moment - and - they are free. The goal is to make beautiful music available. The unexpected aspect of FACP is to learn in the pre-concert moments that they also deliver top-drawer music education programs to schools in the DISD. KUDOS to the FACP.I will go again and again.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

attending concert events that were most enjoyable and wonderfully performed.

The Fine Arts Chamber Players is an outstanding organizaiton that brings FREE professionally played classical music to the Dallas community and provides FREE exucational outreach programs to children in the community. I am especailly fond of our eduactional outreach programs that provide teachers with both the necessary ciriculum for the class and expose the kids to classical music. The "Dream Collectors" presents several muical plays that combine music, science, philosphy and general character building into a spectacular play for kids in the grades 4 - 6. At the end of each play, the kids can't wait to ask questions and talk to the musicians. FACP recently started an after school string progmram at a local underprivileged, underfunded and mostly non-English speaking elementary. This program enlists professional musicians to teach the kids to play the violin and, more importantly, has raised the grades and confidence of every child involved. The teachers at Lowe Elementary rave about the positive changes they have seen in the students who particiapte in the string program. And my first exposure ... and most continual exposure ... to FACP is throught its free concert series at the Dallas Museum of Art. The museum allows the general public to enter the museum for the concerts free of charge. Professional musicians grace the stage to bring free classical chamber music to everyone. FACP is present in the schools, exposing and teaching the kids about classical music, and the free concert series gives students an opportunity to come with their families to hear wonderful music that would otherwise be confined to the symphony hall or other ticketed venues. FACP offers many other concerts and educational outreach programs ... too many to name in this brief note ... but the thing that means the most to me about FACP is that it leaves a lasting impression on anyone it touches. If there is a child with an interest in music ... cello, violin, voice ... FACP will find a way to bring music to that child's life ... through donating an instrument, finding a teacher free of charge, bringing the child to the concerts, bringing a program to the school. If there is person who wants to hear good classica music, you will not be disappointed with an FACP production. Many concert goers often wonder aloud, why is this free? Its so good that you could ... should ... charge for this. That's the point.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The Bancroft Family Concert Series The Basically Bethoveen Festival The Dream Collectors education programs Music A to Z And many children, from ages 6 - high school who have participated in our programs.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Bringing classical music to an audience that would not normally be exposed to this genre.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Prefessional and shared a love for music.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Make significant strides to make arts ... especially music .. part of the education of each and every child in the Dallas area.
