As a long time performer with the FACP, I can truly say that it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I have performed with the Dream Collector, and Music A-Z and both have created a spark of interest in the children. While entertaining the children, we also get a huge amount of information to them. Through visual and aural experiences, I believe that the messages that we provide have a much greater chance of sticking with the children, especially those whose first language is not English

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The chance to interact with the school children and see them light up when we perform.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

The staff has been overwhelmingly helpful and informative about the schools and with follow-ups.

Ways to make it better...

There wasn't the monentary restraints and the schools were more aware of the benefits to them.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

For the past 20 years, it has been my great honor and privilege to work with this wonderful organization as a member of their educational outreach program, the Dream Collectors. Because of the inspired commitment of the Fine Arts Chamber Players, we have been able to create original, cutting edge, fully staged theatrical productions of the highest professional caliber and bring them free of charge into Dallas area schools. Through music, dance, art, and theater we capture the imagination of the students to present exhilarating programs on poetry from around the world, science, character development, and tolerance. None of this would have been possible if not for the vision and tireless dedication of the Fine Arts Chamber Players.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the reactions and testimonies from students, teachers, parents, and senior adults to our high caliber and thought provoking performances and residency programs.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

its dedication to reaching under-served student and senior populations.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach all the students in the greater Dallas area!!! as well as seniors who have difficulty traveling out of their facilities.

I am a member of the FACP teaching staff. I have had the privilege to teach at some of the finest universities in the country but I have never had a more rewarding teaching experience than instructing beginning violin students through the FACP program at Lowe Elementary.English is the second language for most of the students at Lowe and some of the students struggle academically.Happily we have succeeded in teaching the violin to students at all levels of academic competence, often to the astonishment of their other teachers. We give these children pride as well as the ability to make music, perform on a stage and work with one another. They are the Lowe community of violinists.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the respect given to the 3rd and 4th grade children by the teachers and administrators at the school when they visit our classroom. The children can do something that the adults cannot. It is very satisfying for everyone.

Ways to make it better...

I had to comply with fewer DISD rules.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding
