FMSC is a great place to volunteer and make good use of your time. You can tell they really care about helping kids around the world who have very little to no food. This place is making a difference in so many lives across the globe with its cost-effective approach to providing sound nutrition for children in third world countries.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my time serving there.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

It's hard to get in to volunteer here because it's so popular.

This is a great opportunity to volunteer with a group or as an individual. As you see the results of your efforts pile up and get packaged for shipping, you know that hungry children all over the world will be eating nutritious meals because of the work you did. As a donor, too, I am glad to know that so much of my gift directly benefits the children, as their operating costs are quite conservative. Even a small donation can make a big difference in the lives of the hungry children who are fed through this organization.

The stories told of children's lives saved because of the food provided are truly inspiring.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The only way I can imagine changing this organization would be to open even more volunteer centers for the packaging of meals.

Two of my daughters used to receive food from FMSC...Not only did they get the nutrition they needed, but they also really liked the taste! We have volunteered and it was a lot of fun (not to mention the great impact). Right after the earthquake in Haiti the "camp" where I was staying with the orphanage of 120 kids was also handing out FMSC through Convoy of Hope and there was order and a lot of hungry people who were very happy to have the nutrition they needed! Now that my girls are home in the U.S. we are looking forward to volunteering so they can help prepare the meals that they used to receive! God is good!

I would not change anything about FMSC...just more volunteers and donors so the great work they do would grow even more.

I became a regular donor after hearing my father rave about the organization and all that they do to feed the hungry around the world. While I'm not physically located near any of their packaging sites in the US, I hear it is one of the most rewarding, short-term volunteer experiences one can have. That they are able to commit 94% of all donations to direct support of the food program is amazing! Their online platform for giving is seamless, and their balance of sharing information and asking for more is among the best I've experienced (don't feel overwhelmed by more and more asks for money).

What a wonderful organization. You cannot do much more good then to feed people who are dying of starvation. The meals are packaged in centers in the US, and sent all over the world. The meals are engineered to provide essential nutritional needs. Look at the stories on their site.. You can go down solo, or bring a group. A little time can make a big difference. The centers are very well managed, and informative. The staff is very knoweledgeable and accommodating. They even tally up the numbers from your group so you can see how many children you have fed with the meals you packaged. A very rewarding experience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the thoroughness of the staff in their training and informing about the rewards of your time and money investment.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Thoughtful, well trained, and informative.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do amazing things in the fight on world hunger.

Ways to make it better...

cannot imagine how.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Getting sufficient funding for food materials too keep up with their volunteer base.

One thing I'd also say is that...

there are few places that your time and money can make such an immediate impact to save people's lives. This is one of them.
