I adopted a Severe Macaw who is healthy and happy thanks to his rescue by Feathered Friends Forever. I am so glad this rescue exists, as the need is so great, and they are dedicated to caring for all birds in need.

The goffin's cockatoo is a real sweetheart and I have had him for over 3 years now. I met and interacted with the bird prior to the adoption then I took him home.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Upgrade all current housing as well as provide housing for twice as many birds and be set up to help all needy birds.

When I first when to Feathered Friends Forever Refuge/Rescue inc it was a small house with 15-20 birds in need of a home. I took my parrot, Shashi who had no idea he was a bird. He thought he was a person. In fact he couldn't fly and he was scared to death of other birds. They took him in and taught him who he was and spectacular Mollucan Cockatoo. He has a fantastic habitat and great friends. They took me in as well, I've always been greeted with a giant hug, and everyone is family. FFFR is built from love, passion and absolute dedication to the health and wellbeing for more that 1000 birds now in an incredible natural setting. I love who they are and what they are doing for this noisy bunch of clowns. (I’m referring to the parrot behavior) Every time I visit i'm inspired by all they are doing for so many people and the birds they love. They are magnificent thanks everybody for your vision, love, devotion and hard work

My girlfriend and I went there to take her two cockatiels that she could no longer keep recently and were so impressed with the facility and staff. It was hard knowing what to expect at first but the operators and volunteers are so committed to and love the animals in their care. They had so many personal stories about the birds there, and there are literally hundreds, each with its own name and they know them all. What a wonderful and attentive environment. The birds are received and kept in observation for acclimation and then slowly transitioned to the various indoor or outdoor aviaries based on the owner or caretakers wishes. They maintain a policy of respect for the birds in their care giving them the level of attention they need based on information and history. I can't say enough and absolutely saw no negative aspects to this organization. My girlfriend and I plan to go there as often as possible to volunteer, its just that wonderful.

The Great!

The time they took to detail the operation by giving an unrestricted tour of the facility with access to the birds and the history behind many of the residents there.

I had to find a new home for my 2 cockatiels, Peanut and Pearl, last weekend. We drove to Harlem from Macon, GA and entered the facility. We met Rob who was working on a new sprinkler system for the refuge and then met Bob, who took us on a tour of the place. What an amazing facility and amazing bunch of people we met! The outside aviaries were amazing and each bird seemed to have his/her own touching personal story and personality. I was so worried at first but after leaving, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and satisfaction with my decision to find a new home for my birds. Feathered Friends Forever seems almost perfect. My boyfriend and I are planning on volunteering as much as possible and will definitely continue to have a relationship with these wonderful people. Thank you so much Ron, Tammy, and Bob and everyone else who has shown so much heart and love and concern for birds in need. I'm saddened that so many birds go through so many hardships but my heart swells with gratitude knowing that there are people out there willing to donate their time, energy, love, and hearts to such amazing feathered friends.

After chatting with Ron at FFF for a couple years I was finally able to visit the Rescue in Nov 09. What an amazing sight. The selflessness of Ron, Tammy and everyone else affiliated with the Rescue is nothing short of heartwarming. The health and safety of the birds are, as they should be, first priority. I hope to visit again this year.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be a voice. It could be a teaching facility, a rehabilitation center, an even larger haven for parrots from all over.

This is a great place to learn about exotic birds, and to be able to see them in a more close up and natural environment than a zoo, or a home cage.

Feathered Friends Forever is a great rescue. The work they do there is amazing. Without the help of people like those that donate their time and efforts to the rescue the birds would have no chance of surviving.
