Unlike most Wikipedia articles, that one referenced is locked and can neither be added to nor edited, which in and of itself is suspicious, and lends credibility to to the allegations. The article is clearly biased, as it describes the book on the coverup by Nick Bryant as having been "rejected by several larger and more reputable publishing houses," inferring that his publisher is not reputable. This editorializes the article. While it is unclear as to whether or not the incidents did occur, it is an undisputed fact that there were boys molested by Catholic founder of the Second Mile, Jerry Sandusky, and by the founder of the Catholic charity, Covenant House by Father Bruce Ritter, and that Catholic institutions as a whole have a history of coverups of the incidents involving the molestation of children, especially young boys, by the Catholic church. As a young man, I personally was accosted by a Monsignor in his 70's who tried to stick his tongue in my mouth at the conclusion of a blessing. I filed a complaint with the Los Angeles archdiocese, which rejected its validity. The Monsignor then went on to molest two young boys. No organization, including churches, should be allowed to be in charge of children, especially young boys, when those in charge of Catholic priests or similar Catholic clergy. I realize that this is profiling, but with just cause.

But to the matter for which I came to write this review, Boys Town (recently Girls and Boys Town) is enabling a California organization called the California Coalition for Youth to continue to perpetrate fraud against the people of the State of California. CCY has an ongoing contract with the State to operate of 24-hour hotline for youth. But instead of fulfilling its obligations, it forwards its hotline much of the time to the Boys Town National Hotline with Boys Town's consent. see http://www.friedmarbles.com/html/ccy.htm. In this regard Boys Town has continually assisted in the fraud by enabling CCY to disregard its contractual obligations.

In response to the accusation about Boys Town sexual scandal, I'd like to suggest going to the Wikipedia link provided below that says this accusation is unfounded. Judge for yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_child_prostitution_ring_allegations

I have given donations to Boys Town in the past and supported their work. However, tonight my husband told me about a scandal involving Boys Town and their involvement and complicity in abuse of the children in their care. Google "Franklin" and "Boys Town" for various articles. Some artidcles I found: http://franklinscandal.com/franklinscandal_boystown.html and http://news-now.org/2011/05/flashback-boys-town-abuse-franklin-coverup/ This was from the 1980s, not the 1880s. It horrified me that this could have occurred with the knowledge and participation of the organization. At this point, hopefully things have changed dramatically at the organization, but I will be looking at other organizationsto donate my hard earned dollars.
