Fairchild Foundation is an all volunteer, non-profit grassroots Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) organization that helps spay and neuter stray and feral cats in Berks County and surrounding areas in PA thus reducing the unwanted cat population by millions. Fairchild was the first formal organization in Berks County of its kind, and it established a valuable resource where none had existed before.
Geographic areas served: Berks County, PA
Programs: Our goal is to spay and neuter 30 feral cats every month this year to help reduce the cat overpopulation problem in our community. By spaying and neutering feral cats we can effectively reduce the number of cats that are euthanized in animal shelters by millions over the next several years. Because feral cats are unsocialized to humans and can’t adjust to life in a human home, the only possible outcome is death if they enter a shelter.
