Everyone Reading is an exceptional nonprofit organization that supports people with dyslexia and related learning disabilities in many ways. Their annual conference is the premier event of its type in the Northeast, attracting about 1,000 parents, professionals, and individuals who struggle with reading. Their information and referrals service provides much needed information and support to parents and professionals who call for help seeking appropriate services for their children and their students. Their multi-varied staff development opportunities enrich the skills professionals bring to their work with children who face challenges in reading, writing, and math as well as social skills. Their low-fee, scholarship supported one-on-one summer tutoring program provides the highest quality instruction to students at the same time the tutors receive focused supervision to improve their skills. Finally, Everyone Reading's active political action work brings the needs of this community to lawmakers in Albany and New York City.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have heard and read countless testimonials from parents and professionals about the very direct ways Everyone Reading has listened and responded to their needs. I have read the glowing reviews of participants at the conference and the multitude of staff development offerings. I have tallied the astounding gains scores of students in the summer tutoring program. I have experienced first hand the comradeship of the members of this organization who are tireless in their quest to make it even better.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand their staff and their operating budget so they could provide even more support to the children, parents, and professionals who would benefit from their expertise and their compassion.
