What a wonderful organization! For over 10 years I have had the pleasure of seeing this Foundations volunteer efforts go to work. My family (3 generations) have been involved in the NAIFA Tampa Golf Classic, Hare Racing Experience and the Ribs for Kid's Fundraising events for many years now. Although none of our immediate family or friends are challanged with this illness, we have nevertheless felt the impact of the work ESF does as expressed in the Boggy Creek camp we have been able to help send kids to every year.

Epilepsy services is the best. I have worked with my professional association, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors for more than 10 years to promote Epilepsy Services. We sponsor a golf tournament to send children with epilepsy to camp. We have raised over $400,000 in our 23 year partnership. I have seen a video of the children at camp and what an experience they have. Over the years we are always aware of the need for them and work to fill in the gap of monies needed.

As both a volunteer and a mother of a child with epilepsy, I cannot begin to explain the impact that Epilepsy Services Foundation (ESF) has had on my life. When my husband and I first found out that our daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 7 we did not know how to handle the news. Would she be normal and would the seizures have long term effects on her growth, learning process and ability to make friends and interact with other children? I work for a company that donates and volunteers their time to ESF and attended the Hare Racing Experience three years ago. Since that event, I have gained knowledge and information that has helped not only my husband and I but my daughter in understanding and dealing with her epilepsy in a positive and healthy way. I have met various healthcare professionals, counselors and parents through this wonderful organization who have touched my life in ways that some people would not even imagine. My daughter who is now 10 years old has such a positive outlook on her epilepsy and understands that it cannot and will not stop her in her every day life. She has been seizure free for a year and a half now and thanks to the tools and information provided to our family through ESF we are looking forward to the years to come. Please endorse Epilepsy Services Foundation so that other families, like mine, dealing with epilepsy can benefit from the wonderful services that they provide on a daily basis.

I am a mother of a child with epilepsy and a nurse. I became a board member this year as a way of giving back. My son and our family have personally benefitted from the foundation - he has been able to attend Camp Boggy Creek for the last 8 years. To watch him grow through camp has been the most wonderful thing. This is his last year to attend and he looks forward to going back as a volunteer. I was awarded a scholarship through the foundation to continue my schooling as I work toward my ARNP specializing in pediatric neurology. I am also a member of the HOPE mentoring team - helping the community through teaching and mentoring those in need. I could go on and on about the wonderful things the foundation provides. Let there never be a question that this organization is a vital one in this community. Thank you ESF!

I recently got involved with the Epilepsy Services Foundation to help fight for those living with this condition. My best friend's sweet little boy, Jake from Texas, was diagnosed with Epilepsy when he was 3. From that moment on I set out to find a way for me to be involved and to learn more. I knew the moment I met Tom Orth it was calling my name. The genuine passion, care and concern for the Epilepsy community is apparent in every little thing the foundation does. Sending kids to camp, spreading awareness, providing scholarships to those entering the neurological field, doctor referrals, mentoring programs, a wealth of knowledge, and so much more...It's quite eye-opening as to what it truly means to give passionately. I am so fortunate to volunteer and be a part of such a great foundation.

many ways. The mentoring program has really helped strengthen my knowledge of the subject. It has helped me feel confident when talking to people and making people aware. I was lucky to be in charge of the Purple Day walk for Epilepsy in Seminole, FL...what a great feeling to walk with those living with Epilepsy and to be there for them as a resource and friend.

shout what we do from the ROOFTOPS!!! The more people that know about Epilepsy..the better! Talk about it, educate people and HELP people face this topic, rather than avoid it! It knows no boundaries and is more prevalent than anyone knows! WE have got to get more research and awareness going...

In my years as both a volunteer and board member at the Epilepsy Services Foundation, I have learned so much! I have learned about epilespy, how it affects the person affected with it, and the channels these persons go through to receive treatment. The Epilepsy Services Foundation provides invaluable services to the epileptic community. They send kids to Camp Boggy Creek, provide scholarships, and offer guidance to the community they serve. There is not another non-profit that i have been associated with as either a volunteer or board member that is so communited to their cause.

As a business leader in our community, I am often approached to donate time, money and energy to many different charitable organizations. While all are deserving, I have a special place in my heart for Epilepsy Services Foundation. Every year, thanks to the efforts of Tom Orth, Executive Director, ESF is able to send children affected by Epilepsy to a Summer Camp where for 1 week during the entire year, they feel normal. Notice I did not say special, they feel normal. To see the look on a kid’s face that ordinarily has to be treated special being treated as a normal kid, it really is worth every bit of energy and time.

In addition to the camp, ESF also provides scholarships to people affected by Epilepsy to allow them to further their academic progress. They also provide scholarships to those entering into fields that will help those affected by Epilepsy.

While other organizations are truly deserving, I am especially proud to be on the board of ESF. I see first hand the difference a few people can make in the lives of so many.

My connection to Epilepsy Services Foundation (ESF) began when I was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 5 and was told that I would have to take medication for the rest of my life. I had a mild form of seizures called absence seizures which made me "blank out" or lose consciousness for a few seconds. The seizures were more socially disturbing during my childhood than anything, but I was blessed to have outgrown them by the time I reached my teen years. Before meeting Executive Director of ESF, Tom Orth, I was very skeptical about charitable organizations. Since then, however, I've experienced ESF's dedication to serving those with epilepsy first hand. I started with ESF by volunteering at its annual Live Music Series in 2010 and working a concession stand at a Tampa Bay Buc's football game to raise money. I also participated its H.O.P.E. Training (Helping Other People with Epilepsy) where I learned so much more about the disorder. ESF and Tom Orth gave me hope that there are organizations out that there truly care about serving the community.

I have been involved with The Epilepsy Foundation for a period of 5 years. I am always amazed at the level of concern always about clients, their care and their families. All decisions in the organization are based on service to people affected with Epilepsy and their families and care takers.
In this day and age when bottom line is always the concern, it never superceeds concerns first for the clients.
The Epilepsy Foundation is an example for all organizations to run by

I first got involved with Epilepsy Services Foundation after I moved to central FL and began looking for a local epilepsy organization. ESF was taking part in their "Be a Cupcake! Buy a Cupcake!" fund raising and awareness campaign and I thought I can do that! When I contacted ESF I also got information on an upcoming local awareness walk and joined the planning committee. Since my son was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2007 I've wanted to be a part of something to spread awareness and to be able to share experiences with others who understand firsthand. I consider myself so lucky to have found ESF and am proud and excited to become more involved.

the awareness walk for Purple Day. A young mom with a newly diagnosed toddler and I talked near the end of the event. She was overwhelmed and scared and was so happy she had found out about the walk and that she came and saw wasn't alone. It's a great thing, to have been that scared and overwhelmed mom a few years ago and to now be a part of an organization that raises awareness and education and can support someone else as they start this journey.
