EESI does a fantastic job of collaborating with experts and integrating their own expertise to address the most relevant environmental and energy policy issues. I have been an intern here for the last four months and have found the staff to be not only extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields but also eager to help foster my own development. It has been an outstanding experience.

I was an intern at EESI for 5 months this past summer and it was a wonderful experience. Not only is the staff knowledgeable in this field, but they were all very helpful in providing advice and guidance for a recent college graduate like me.
During my time as an intern, I had the opportunity to attend many of the Congressional briefings that EESI puts together on relevant topics relating to energy and environmental issues. From these briefings, I was able to see firsthand the volume of people that attend (from varying sectors of governmental and nongovernmental agencies, as well as staff from Congressional offices) to hear from experts on these topics.
Having access to that sort of information is invaluable.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing the impact that EESI has by providing nonpartisan, factual, and timely information to policymakers and the public through their Congressional briefings, publications, and other educational materials that are available on the Internet and are widely disseminated all across Capitol Hill.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
try to find ways so that funding for the work that EESI does could be increased. While I firmly believe that their work is invaluable in how useful it is, there is still a monetary value that is needed to help further the cause of educating policymakers and the public. EESI is extremely efficient with their current resources and they have already achieved a lot, but there so much more than can be done to help safeguard our environment and our national security by improving the United State's energy use!
I have benefited from EESI since the 1980s, when their "green sheets" were the definitive source of information for everything environment and energy-related in Congress, and their briefings on climate change and other topics were the most informative, and balanced, in Washington. As an advocate for renewable energy and my clients who research and develop renewable energy, I know we have all accomplished more and been more effective because we were armed with information from EESI, and because EESI was also educating decisonmakers. Renewable energy has come a long way since the 1980s, and so has EESI. May EESI continue its work for many more.

For more than five years, I have been attending the Energy and Environment Study Institute (EESI) Capitol Hill's Seminars and Conferences. They are well thought out, hosted, and attended. The accomodations and hospitality are excellent! When I chance to speak with other professionals at these events, they are some of the Energy and Environmental Industry's most talented, and connected. The topics could be ripped from the headlines of the major issues of the day, as our world is forced to deal with the environmental pressures of approximately seven billion people. The integration of these issues with our country's legislative and executive branches of government lend the gatherings a sense that these issues will be dealt with intelligently and forthrightly. Even when I am unable to attend, the EESI staff and professionals offer me the seminar materials in a very easy to access web-based, downloadable format so I might stay current on the issue at hand. The good people at EESI are friendly, courteous, professional and made-to-order for the perfectly insane pace of a world in which we live. I highly recommend the EESI organization, its direction and its excellent professionals.

I was an intern at EESI last summer. The staff are reputable and devoted to the their cause and thoroughly understand the scope of environmental issues they seek to tackle. I worked primarily in its development department, writing grants, communicating with donors, and drafting other reports. EESI has a great working relationship with its donors. That's because its congressional briefings are highly informative and effective for decision makers in Washington D.C.

Provide it with the monetary resources it needs to meet its annual budget, and more. EESI is full of great potential and money shouldn't hold it back from its great causes.
Environmental and Energy Study Institute provides well-balanced, objective, credible, thoroughly researched information on critical environmental and energy topics: climate change, transportation, buildings, energy and sustainability; and helps making better policy solutions.
As an intern at EESI I have witnessed outstanding professionalism and dedication among organization staff. They are experts in each respective areas, and in the field of energy and environment in general. EESI are highly efficient, and achieve outstanding results with very small staff. In addition to all professional qualities, EESI staff is a team of wonderful people, and I greatly enjoyed being a part of this team during my internship. Carol Werner, Ellen Vaughan, Ned Stowe, Laura Parsons, Jan Mueller, - shared with me invaluable insights on sustainable energy and environment. They also helped me to shape my career objectives and life goals. I am currently using the knowledge and experience obtained through EESI internship to pursue a doctoral degree in environmental and energy management.

As a climate activist, I find EESI's Climate News indispensable for my work. I do a lot of publicity for climate abatement, and I quote new and valuable information from CN every time I present. I also post news from CN on my community's "Climate" bulletin board and update it every week.
In short, it's an invaluable resource.

I think EESI is one of the most effective groups on Capitol Hill. They rely on credible scientific information to make the case for solid policy. I have worked in energy policy for many years and I turn to EESI for information because I know I can find the latest developments from the nation's experts in the field.
