Referred kids to EMTAH program for mentoring and instruction. Monitored and followed the progress of invovled youth to see the positive changes made in their musical abilities and other areas of life.

EMTAH's services fill a huge void in the area of competency development for the youthful offender population. Currently, available mentoring programs are short term and do not offer the combination of skill development and practical application that EMTAH offers and is so critical to ensuring youth leave the juvenile justice system more capable of being productive, law-abiding and connected to their communities. EMTAH is ahead of its time!

I am not an muscician or an educator, but in the past year I have seen EMTAH change the lives of a number of children. Any kid can benefit from the mentoring provided by the EMTAH staff, but it has been especially beneficial for children who have not been able to learn using traditional methods and/or have significant emotional problems. The alternative method of learning used by the instructor mentors gets through to to many of these children, and they have shown that they can used these methods not just to express themselves artistically, but also to apply the methods to being successful students and citizens. The scholarships provided to students who could not otherwise afford such mentoring has allowed any child not matter how rich or poor to benefit equally. I hope that we can continue to find the funds needed to keep this wonderful program going, and to extend it to more and more young people.

The small staff of this organization has done an amazing job with very limited resources.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could extend its services to many communities. Any community would benefit from having these mentoring services available

This program has had a dramatic impact on my 17 year old son. Bill and his musicians have served as great role models and mentors that have brought a great and positive focus to my son. As a result, his total focus in life has changed for the good. Bill is an extremely passionate mentor--and that passion is what has stirred my own son to want to do better in life in general--and he has once again discovered his own passion for music which is carrying on to all facets of his life. I strongly recommend EMTAH as a powerful force of good to make a very positive difference in the community that is serves.

I have in contact with EMTAH and Bill & Mary-Helen Rossi since they started their activities in West Chester, PA. It is remarkably how much of their goals already has been reached in such a short and in this rather difficult time. Raised in a very cultural country of The Netherlands and being involved in The Arts since 10 years in Chester County PA, I have been astonished how little attention in education is given to The Arts. I'm very happy that EMTAH is changing that and it will make this area a better world! Ben Gall 900 Warrior Road Malvern, PA 19355

I started volunteering with EMTAH in the summer of 2009. After reading Venturing Together, William Rossi's book describing his teaching approach, I became extremely interested in the program. As I spent time helping out with administrative aspects of the program, I got the chance to see the difference EMTAH was making in my community. I attended events like the CCAA Pumpkin Carve and knew that there was something very special going on in this program--going above and beyond the efficacy of other nonprofit organizations with which I have had experience. I'm currently working with the students and staff at EMTAH on an incredible project, and it is such a good experience to see what a difference the opportunity for creative expression makes in the lives of young people. I am so proud and fortunate to be a part of this organization and to know such a great group of people.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the chance to see real change happening. There's a lot of rhetoric in the nonprofit world, and it can be disheartening, but EMTAH is consistently doing positive work in my community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

wonderful people who have made long-term commitments to the program and the youth involved. EMTAH is very unique in that sense.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

inspire a whole generation to find their creativity.
