I think Doggone Safe is an excellent program. I take the "Be A Tree" program into our local schools every spring to present to the younger grades. I am always amazed and horrified at how many children and adults that have been bitten by a dog and at how many that are terrified of dogs. I can only hope that the presentation will prevent someone else from such an unnessisary outcome. I am so inspired by some of the really little students and how they really enjoy the presentation.

I have been a member of Doggone Safe for 6 years and a presenter of the 'Be A Tree' program. As a professional dog trainer, I find the information very helpful for my clents with children and routinely provide 'Be A Tree' bookmarks and other materials to them. I also strongly encourage them to visit the Doggone Safe website.

The children of my clients learn appropriate behaviour, not only around their family dog, but also around other dogs not necessarily known to them.

In order to be more proactive with the program in local schools, I would like an offical standard form letter that can be downloaded then amended to add the local presenter's contact information. This could then be sent to local School Boards and/or directly to local schools.

Cari colleghi,

As a professional educator in the area of dog training and behavior I have used Doggone Safe's Be a Tree program as part of my educational programs to help children, parents and the general public avoid being bitten by better understanding the dog's ability to communicate to us his level of comfort. Learning to read obvious dog body language is the single most important factor that will decrease the likelihood of being bitten.

The Doggone Safe program is very well organized, shows clear and obvious photographs on dog body language and is put together in a format that is easy for children to understand. Often, the children who learn the Be A Tree program take the knowledge home with them to tell their parents and grandparents what to do around dogs!

In addition, I have had parents and other dog owners who don't have children attend and express that they learned things and felt the information valuable as well.

Twice in the past year our Be a Tree Program has received media recognition at the local news level as the importance of learning to keep children safe from dog bites grows.

In addition, I have used parts of the Doggone Safe children's presentation to teach adults working in service related fields how to prevent a bite on the job.

I consider this to be the most complete and organized format to date available to help educate the public about the behavior of dogs and avoid preventable and dangerous dog bites.

Doggone Safe is a valuable resource. It's simplicity is it's beauty - any child can learn to Be A Tree - such a simple excercise to save so much grief. The board game Doggone Crazy is also a great way for both children and adults to learn about proper behaviour around both known and unknown dogs.

Doggoone safe provides very vital information to help educate children on dog body language and they provide great tools for parents, teachers and trainers. The information they provide could very well save children from getting seriously hurt. Children need to know what a dog's body language is sayying and when to leave a dog be.

I joined Doggone Safe in 2010 and became a licensed presenter for the "Be a Tree" program soon after. The impact that this organization has on the prevention of dog bites can not be overstated. Time and again, I have given the presentation to rave reviews from the kids as well as the adults. I have personally witnessed children putting the techniques into action at the local dog park. Parents have sought me out to express their gratitude that their kids now feel empowered and safe around both the family dog and strange dogs. Doggone Safe's programs are the most comprehensive I have ever seen. There is no doubt that this organization saves lives.

The Doggone safe bite prevention presentations will save lives. They will save the lives of the dogs that my have bitten someone out of fear due a lack of socialiaztion who would reacted badly when frightened. They will also spare countless people the often life-long crippling fear that is the unfortunate aftermath of enduring the trauma that is associated with a dog bite. This simple easy to remember technique is a godsend and should be presented in every school and youth group.

Last year [2010] I took the ‘Basic Dog Body Language’ course via ‘Doggone Safe’. I decided to take the course because I have a real passion for dogs and love to educate myself as much as I can about dogs. I was pleasantly surprised of the information this course had covered and its presentation of material. After successfully completing the course I am now able to read dogs’ body language so much better than before. I personally feel they covered all areas to keep yourself, family members, etc. as well as other pets and animals safe. I greatly recommend everyone who has any contact with dogs take this course, as it is extremely feasible and you will acquire a lot of information when it comes to Predicting, Preventing, Protecting a dog bite!
Furthermore there is a great deal of valuable material to purchase or download at no cost on their website that is unambiguously geared towards avoiding dog bites.
