I was so touched by my medical and spiritual care given by Tepeyac Family Center, operated by DMC, that I promised God that if I ever had a chance to give back to the amazing souls at TFC, that I would. So when the opportunity to help with their annual Gala presented itself 7 years ago, I stepped right up to help. I have since acted in a number of large planning roles, and I have to say, that I am still honored to be able to give this organization even so little compared to what they've both given my family and give to so many others- all in the name of the sanctity of life. My husband and I have been on a long, touching journey with TFC. Our first pregnancy about 8 years ago was ectopic (tubal); when Dr. Bruchalski found our baby in my fallopian tubes on the ultrasound, he immediately prayed with us. How incredible! We later lost another baby and then went through years of infertility. Dr. B was always willing to answer ethics questions re: fertility treatments. Our first miracle came when we adopted our first daughter and then our second miracle came when we conceived and carried our second daughter to term, under the care of the doctors at Tepeyac. Their knowledge of NFP is so refreshing. I was able to show Dr. B. my temperature charts and he was able to pinpoint exactly what was happening with my PCOS when I had heavy mid-cycle bleeding just by looking at my trends over a few cycles. (My endocrinologist, the specialist, on the other hand, had only a vague idea of what happened). This just shows how TFC understands the female body to a higher degree than others. They do amazing things here, not only for us, but thousands of others. Their compassion is unparalleled. Need a OB/GYN? Find Tepeyac Family Center.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the formation of my beautiful family and also in the health care I receive for my medical diagnoses.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them endless cash reserves so they never have to worry about whether they can continue to operate- and so that they may also expand.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their relentless support of the preciousness of life, no matter how young or under what circumstances it was created.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

full of love.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand to include a pediatrics practice and other medical specialties.

Ways to make it better...

my calls could be immediately answered, but I've yet to find a medical office that does this.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

linked to funding. DMC needs to have a consistent flow of money to support it's charity operations, as well as to cover insurance costs.

One thing I'd also say is that...

they spread the love of the Catholic Church like wildfire. How could a non-Catholic come to TFC/DMC and *not* be amazed by how the doctors promote the faith of the Church? I sometimes wonder how many converts have started their journey with a visit to TFC

Divine Mercy Care provides health care and more to anyone in need. I have been the recipient of health care as a patient, as well as a labor coach for others in need of support during their labor and birth experience. Each physician in the practice is caring and nurturing, spending much more time than physicians in "regular" practices usually do. The needs of indigent clientele are addressed by the center's patient advocate, and everything from car seats, safe sleeping envirnoments, and infant clothing and equipment are provided to those in financial need. This practice is truly a place where faith comes alive on a daily basis!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the personal care and attention afforded me when I was worried about a particular medical concern. I had never prayed with a physician before, but at Divine Mercy Care, the opportunity is offered, and much appreciated!

I have been volunteering for Divine Mercy Care on their gala committee for the past four years, but I have been a patient of Tepeyac Family Center, run by DMC, for 11 years. I love this organization because they care for their patients deeply and show it through the time they spend with you, prayers with and for you, and their expertise in dealing with complicated medical situations in a very personal way. I have experienced "normal" and high-risk pregnancies, a late term miscarriage, and pregnancy and childbirth while we had no maternity coverage on our insurance. The various doctors and office staff I have dealt with in all these situations made me feel important, cared for, and understood. When we had no insurance they even went out of their way to make sure that nothing was left undone due to lack of money - they set up payment plans and did whatever necessary to make sure I got all the care I needed. I began volunteering on the gala committee to give back to DMC for all they have done for me and others like me. My fellow volunteers are there for similar reasons and we all are happy to share our time and talents to help Divine Mercy Care, especially in its goal of helping women in crisis pregnancies and those who are uninsured.

My wife and I discovered we were infertile early in our marriage (2001), and Divine Mercy Care's OB/GYN organization (Tepeyac Family Center) worked closely with us to identify the problems and determine the best solution, all while staying within the moral guidelines of the Catholic Church. We were so moved by the dedication, professionalism, and ethical values of the doctors and staff at Divine Mercy Care that we began volunteering at their annual fund raising gala. My wife helps with the auction, and I help maintain their web site.

The doctors at Tepeyac Family Center were always my favorite doctors to go to. I would rejoice when I discovered that another little one was on the way and I would get to visit with them again. They are friendly, encouraging, caring, professional but also take an interest in each patient. When one of the doctors saved the life of my daughter - they were forever emblazoned in my heart. However, when I found out that a quarter of all their patients were uninsured or underinsured - or that they would pay for necessary treatments if insurance refused - I realized it was time to step forward and help raise money towards the almost $400,000 in care that they end up "eating." In addition to medical care, they also help some of the uninsured moms find help finding the resources to set up their lives to take care of their newborns. Tepeyac Family Center and Divine Mercy Care have truly found a way to combine the best of modern medicine with the kindness and loving spirit of Christ. It's a lovely place with a divine mission.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've been a patient with them for over 11 years and have had four children with them. In addition, they have helped and aided me through any medical issue that has popped up during that time. They were excellent on all accounts!

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make more of them. Some of my friends drive more than an hour to get to this office. Because they accept patients that are underinsured, this office should be replicated nationwide.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with the doctors and staff. They are friendly and they really care about each patient.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

It's like a family. Every patient LOVES Tepeyac because you are made to feel like a comfortable cousin when you come in.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand and develop more offices and more types of medical specialities. This organization has the perfect business model that will help ease all those who are uninsured or underinsured find high quality care.

Ways to make it better...

It had more room. They have so many excellent doctors but they could really use more room.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Getting the word out. This excellent business model is often overlooked by government and medical business models because of their feelings against it's pro-life stance. That pro-life attitude is what makes each person feel special.

One thing I'd also say is that...

My dream is that Divine Mercy Care is able to open up more practices using the same business model as Tepeyac Family Center and spread them throughout the country. Every person should have access to excellent care despite their insurance.

Divine Mercy Care is a team of compassionate, life-sustaining OB-GYNs and their co-workers to show charity in action through healthcare to women, particularly those women who are pregnant or in financial need. One of the guiding principles of DMC is to be able to provide care for women who cannot pay for their medical services. This is why DMC relies heavily on donations from ordinary people like you and me. I have been impressed with the caring and cheerful qualities of the people I have worked with at DMC, whether in the waiting room, in conversation with the doctor, staff, or volunteers that help to make this organization so special. DMC provides a beacon of hope to underprivileged women in the local area and beyond. I hope it is one that will continue to shine for years to come.

Each year I make hand-crafted items for the Divine Mercy Care gala. I have also made embroidered crosses for their annual memorial service for children who have been called to heaven before birth. Divine Mercy Care and the doctors and staff at the Tepeyac Family Medical Center have provided not only medical care but spiritual and emotional support to my daughter when she delivered a son at 23.5 weeks of pregnancy. Their loving care is invaluable not only in a crisis, but also in the regular care of their patients and their families.

In today's society, there are far too charities who focus on the value and the protection of human life and the real empowerment of women to fulfill their God-given role. DMC excels in supporting and sustaining real womanhood.

This charity not only provides the opportunity for women who are underinsured, insured or not insured at all with healthcare but also helps all aspects of the person: physical and emotionally. I have volunteered over 1000 hours in the last two years and truly awed ny this organization.

My personal and professional life have been blessed by this organization. The doctors delivered two of my nieces, so many of my closests friedships were developed through other women who volunteered to the organization.

I originally got involved with DMC/Tepeyac as a pragmatic way of being “Pro-Life.” You can tell a couple experiencing an unplanned, crisis pregnancy not to have an abortion. But with DMC/Tepeyac you can also show people a caring path to pre-natal care and delivery support. And the doctors at DMC/Tepeyac are dedicated to practicing exceptional medicine, so this is truly a wonderful asset in our community. Having been involved with DMC/Tepeyac now for a few years, I have really come to appreciate their “Transforming Hearts through Healthcare” message. This message is in part a restoring of a faith-based perspective to healthcare that truly reinforces human dignity and caring in the practice of medicine. You can see the joy that faith-based practice brings to the doctors and nurses at DMC/Tepeyac. This joy touches patients and doctors in other practices , and is having a healing effect that is broad reaching.

I have personally seen the results of this organization at their annual Gala. When they introduce some of the heroic women who have fought to keep their babies through the aid of the DMC doctors and nurse, it is truly a moving experience.

The people at Divine Mercy Care have hearts filled with joy, enthusiasm, and love for their patients and future patients. Because they are under the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary and in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church, I have much more trust!

Knowing that the Divine Mercy care is there for me when I need it, when someday I hope to become a mother, and for friends who will become mothers, gives me hope that babies and other patients will be taken care of with dignity and love.
