I started volunteering with DFW Pug Rescue in 2012 as a Transport Volunteer and also took over some of the administrative duties. I've also helped with home visits, adoption applications and events. I have been, and continue to be, impressed every day with the strength and dedication of this wonderful organization. It's been around since 1997, and is run completely by volunteers...no paid staff...no physical facility. We depend solely on our foster volunteers and our vet clinics to help us find homes for the over 7,000 pugs rescued since 1997 as well as all the other volunteers who help with fundraising events.
The Board members work daily with their tasks to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. The Board was expanded in 2015 to add a Director of Volunteers and a new Fundraising Director. I was asked to take on the Director of Volunteers position, one they had never had before. This Board is truly dedicated to doing everything it can to help the Pugs. Most are success stories, but there will always be bumps in the road and growing pains. If the Board is made aware of problems, it will do its best to resolve them. I can't say enough about the daily good works done by this group of volunteers.
Review from Guidestar
I have been actively involved with group for almost 5 yrs.....they are truly a great group of people to volunteer with....they really believe in helping every pug...If I could afford it I would continue their mission full time! I love pugs and they are honestly the sweetest dogs.
This group has a lot of great volunteers that always step up to the plate when needed. They also have great fundraisers throughout the year...
