DDSO Parkway Campus 5051 47th Avenue Sacramento CA 95824 USA
DDSO exists to enrich the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities by fostering individual growth, creativity, and artistic expression.
Our long term sustainability goal was to purchase property that would not only house two of our programs and the DDSO Headquarter office, but would also provide facilities that the local community could also use. We were able to purchase property this past year, which not only opened up new possibilities for the community, but will allow us to build and use our resources to improve client services, instead of paying a landlord. Future plans include building new partnerships to develop funding to enhance and improve our new Parkway Campus community rental options which include: a Theater, Soccer Field, Gymnasium and future space for Artist/Musician studios.
A ‘developmental' disability is one attributable to mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. Clients at DDSO may also have Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, brain trauma, or other neurological disorders that have caused mental and physical disabilities before the age of eighteen.
