I made a $33 pledge to support my daughter's choir which was featured on the Tim Janis program on 3/11/10.When I realized that amount only covered a computer download of the program and not an actual dvd & cd,I called back to add the additional $10. I was told they couldn't make an addition to the order but they could cancel the first transaction and process the new request. Here's where the problem lies: They charged my bank account for BOTH amounts. Pam in your Member Services department said the people that answer the phones cannot make changes on transactions, that I had to call the office to make the change. Since I'm not an employee, I had no way of knowing that. I believed what I was told by your volunteers. Pam apologized and at my request, said you'd reverse the $76 in charges because I canceled the order. So far I've incurred $100 in overdraft fees because small checks I mailed BEFORE the pledge are bouncing. I've been unemployed for over 12 months and this is a very serious problem. As of this morning, a $33 pledge has turned into a $176 nightmare. Please understand my issue isn't with Pam. She was very professional and even called me back and gave me the download for free after my first call. Now I've been charged another $75 for something out of my control. You can't possibly understand the depth of the problem this is causing. I have checks bouncing everywhere due to no fault of my own that I can't possibly cover and I don't have the means to put my checking account back in the black. I need this situation resolved immediately. On top of everything, my last unemployment check was processed yesterday so not only have I lost my income, I'm over $100 in the red at my bank. M. Osburn
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... watching my daughter's choir perform with pride on public television.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Staff and volunteers were polite and professional, just misinformed.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... The volunteer that processed my pledge had the correct information to pass on to me, and told me I had to contact the business office to correct my account.
- If I had to make changes to this organization, I would… Make sure all associates with contact with the public have the correct information to pass on to donors.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Lack of communication.
- One thing I'd also say is that... I feel you should cover the damages caused by the double billing to my account. The credits from the error still haven't posted and I'm being charged more of what I don't have in the first place. Extra money.
