I first met April Star Davis when I purchased some of her very unique jewelry. I am part of the organization Invisible Children. As we conducted business, we also talked about giving back to the world. April had the great idea of having groups of designers donate items to be auctioned at fundraisers for African non-profits. Hence, D4A was born.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

One of the non-profits that was a beneficiary of D4A's fundraising was Drop in the Bucket. They provide fresh water to communities. They are currently connected with Invisible Children's school projects.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find a marketing firm to put the name out more. i would also find someone who is great at writing and editing posts.

I started my own non profit after watching so many misuse funds & wanted to find a way to be the most effective so i now have a registered 501c3 non profit

we are all volunteer run & all financials are open & online & all information is made public.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

donations of designer goods that were auctioned *(by drop in the bucket) to fund a turnabout pump for a village in Uganda * i did not have my tax status yet so had all donations of goods sent direct to DITB for their charity auction Now we have our 501c3 & are ready to start more projects both locally in refugee support & in Uganda & next Sudan

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Let people know about it as its a great way for designers & businesses to get rid of unwanted inventory & get tax receipt & the funds raised through auction of these items is turned into much needed funds for life changing projects.
