I've been involved with a variety of not-for-profit organizations in the Mid-west (board member, volunteer, fundraiser, consultant) and have witnessed a lot of different approaches to management. I can say that Deborah's place is clearly one of the best I have seen. Their staff is very professional and they are courteous to their clients, vendors and volunteers. Like all not-for-profits they experience their share of staff turnover but they do an excellent job of maintaining continuity and sharing organizational knowledge. As an organization they seem to know their mission and stay focused on offering services that are relevant to it. They are consistent and reliable in dealing with donors, vendors and volunteers and seem to make the most of their resources.
