“The Dayton Foundation has a unique perspective as a community problem-solver and an ability to bring organizations together to tackle complex regional issues. In many ways, it is the eye of the community. The stronger The Dayton Foundation grows, the stronger our community will be.”

It’s not about how much money you give, it’s about how to give more effectively. The Dayton Foundation helps us do this. Our Dayton Foundation Charitable Checking Account is so simple and keeps our giving organized. Everyone should have one of these funds.

The opportunity for the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program to work with The Dayton Foundation to promote college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the county has been very special, supportive and productive.

The Dayton Foundation makes us more alert to the opportunities in the community. The Foundation, as a community foundation, finds where the needs are. None of us can handle all of these needs. But if we put our funds with others, together we can do something about them. The Dayton Foundation is recognized for its good stewardship, its integrity and efficiencies, its track record.

As the executive director of The Disability Foundation, I am thrilled to have our organization associated with The Dayton Foundation. The Dayton Foundation provides a high level of stewardship, effectiveness and accountability in the management of our funds, as well as expert guidance in all areas of estate planning. Also, our partnership with The Dayton Foundation has had a tremendous, positive impact on our community outreach efforts. Through media exposure, publications, professional advisor meetings and word of mouth, The Disability Foundation has experienced a growth in our donor base and assets received of approximately 28% averaged over the last five years.

For 10 year the Dayton Foundation followed the giving direction of the donor. In the last 2 years the Dayton Foundation has said that they will not follow the donor wishes to give scholarships to Church schools in OHIO. Members of the donor scholarship review board has been fired. There will information on Dayton Foundation practices to the OHIO Attorney General

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
They started out working within the desires of the donor
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
most of the time very plesent
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
would still not give it away
Ways to make it better...
the dayton foundation would be more interested in serving the donor rather than there own interest
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
they have policy that limits the giving to make it not meanful
One thing I'd also say is that...
They are trying to control the donors will based on their own agenda. it is wrong
