The DAT Minyan is one of the friendliest shuls in Colorado. The leadership is focused on outreach and community. Rabbi Alter is a scholar and a community Rav. The people who attend are warm, Torah-centered professionals. It is a serious Orthodox shul focused on family and Jewish life.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

an incredible Tefilah experience.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

update their website.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the warmth of the members.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

wonderful. I get an invitation at least every other week.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Buy a real synagogue facility.

Ways to make it better...

I come make it more regularly to shul.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Facilities. They need money to expand their building.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Rabbi Alter is a fantastic spiritual and communal leader.

I am a past president of a large traditional synagogue. We have moved over to DAT Minyan for the intimacy and respect toward worship. The shul is youthful and vibrant with many capable lay leaders, male and female who can teach, lead services and set and example for others. It has a welcoming, non-judgmental atmosphere.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Highly educated, both Judaically and secularly. The children of the members are bright and future community leaders.

We have been a member of the minyan since the first days. I like the diversity of the membership. There is a sense of community and caring for other. We have made friendships through the minyan. There is opportunities for all to be involved at all levels. The youth program struggles and needs to be strenghened. Though, the afternoon learning for the children is positive and my daughter loves to go. I like when the children come in for musaf on Shabbat...it adds to the family/warm atmosphere of the shul.

I'm a member of the DAT Minyan and so impressed with all the effort people are putting in to make it a great place.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Fantastic - this is the real strength of the DAT Minyan.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

First of all, build its own facility - it's currently housed in a school.

The Dat minyan provides us with a home away from home, including cholent! WE love it! The lay leadership of the organization allows all those interested in volunteering to volunteer and to participate in some capacity.

Our family relocated to Denver three years ago and we gravitated toward the DAT minyan. We have been very happy with the new friends we have made and the community. We enjoy the DAT minyan very much and feel very comfortable with our choice to go there.

My husband and I moved here a few years ago and were overwhelmed with the warmth of the community in the DAT Minyan. I am also a current member of the Minyan's board (my nomination to the board is unusual simply for the fact that most shul's don't nominate board members that are new to the community and not wealthy). The DAT Minyan is vibrant and energetic and a truly exceptional community of welcoming, wonderful people.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The welcoming, warm community spirit promoted in the DAT Minyan.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Become the center for Torah learning in Denver, fully integrated with it's sister school and newly formed High School, bring in a Modern Orthodox kollel and have its own mikveh!

I have been involved with the DAT Minyan since soon after it was formed.I was excited by the potential I saw for it to become a place where everyone would feel welcomed and the services would be a focused, uplifting experience.I think we are doing a good job of fulfilling that potential. The minyan continues to draw young families, singles, mdddle aged and older people, and meld them into a true community.I see the DAT Minyan an integral to the growth and future of the Denver Jewish community, and asignificant contributor to Denver community at large.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the community grow and provide support, friendship, learning, spiritual growth and meaningful services to it's members and guests of all ages. ,

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be housed in it's own building and increase it's staff to expand it's outreach and programming, benefitting more people and impacting the community in more ways than it can currently do.

While our membership to the Minyan is only at the Associate level (inferring that the Minyan is not our primary synagogue), our experience with the synagogue has been invariably positive and refreshing. Their leadership found within the local community the previously unmet need to conduct a Sabbath morning service at a time much earlier than customary due to various parenting responsibilities and personal preference. This early religious service was made available to the whole Jewish community without regard to level of membership, if any, in the Minyan, and has been a resounding success. Further, the availability of Rabbi Alter as rabbi and friend, despite his grueling working schedule as a "head of school," continues to exceed any imagination of any expectation. He remains part of our family. Overall, the warmth and welcoming manner of DAT Minyan is a "best practice" for other religious entities in our midst.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...their creation of a new "product," namely an early morning Sabbath religious service, which is free of "frills" and run in the most economical ways in order to save time while preserving meaningfulness.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

...merge it with its prime "competitor" down the street so as to avail the overall community of economies of scale.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

...the fact that as, only an Associate member, my views and opinions are sought out and respected.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

...the kind of staff and volunteer that I wish I were.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

...build its own facility, so that religious services could be conducted in a facility more suited for synagogue purposes.

Ways to make it better...

...I put more of myself into it.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

...evolving from a small, passionate organization into a more organized format, which could serve as a platform to be a springboard towards continued growth.

One thing I'd also say is that...

...in a community which has excessive infrastructure at the moment for too few participants, the DAT Minyan truly needs to be a surviving and central entity.
