I was at a point in my life ready to give up. Tired of trying all kinds of traditional therapy, but always felt I couldn't fully express how I felt or even safe to say how I felt. Dandelion Wishes gave me a safe environment to express things I didn't know were pushed down inside of me. Safe place to be real, vulnerable and to begin to heal. Because of what DW did for me I want to do for others.

Dandelion Wishes has changed my life. I developed PTSD after I was victimized two years ago and I did not know how to cope with all of the emotional turmoil. I was in a desperate search to find an outlet because there was no way that I was going to let what happened rule my life. A friend of mine handed me a flyer for one of Dandelion Wishes workshops and I decided to give it a shot; not really knowing what to expect. When I showed up to the workshop I thought that it would be fun to have craft time for a little while and then I would go about my business. However, the prompts were so on target with everything that I was struggling with, that I broke and the dam that held back all of my anguish began to crumble. Through the support of Lesley and the wonderful women involved with Dandelion Wishes, I have found a new level of healing that I did not think I could ever find. I have learned that the only person who can make me a victim is myself. And If it had not been for those two hours that I spent painting, I do not know where I would be. I have now been involved with Dandelion Wishes for the better part of a year, and encourage those who need healing to give this amazing non-profit a shot!
