I donate to CRRC individually, and my church (ST Thomas of Canyon Lake) donates and volunteers to many programs. I am most familiar with the Recreation Center, Thrift Shop, and Food Pantry. This organization helps countless individuals with food, financial resources, exercise programs, and well priced retail products. CRRC also supports other charities. For example, for many years, the CRRC rec center volunteers have helped raise funds for Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, another nonprofit. The rec center also has many organized sports programs for our youth. I personally know many board members and volunteers. All are compassionate and community-minded individuals who work hard to help people in need. Our community is fortunate to have such a vibrant and active nonprofit. I will be happy to answer any questions.
CRRC has been meeting the needs of the Canyon Lake community for over a decade by providing crisis intervention & assistance but also seeing that activities for all ages are available. CRRC is a fabulous gathering place & gets better every year.
As Curves approachs our 14th annual food drive we look forward to working with the CRRC food pantry. Each year we strive to do better as the needs of our community are always there and the CRRC Food Pantry works deligently to meet those needs. The staff at the CRRC provide vital servics to our community in many ways. Maureen Schein and the staff of voluteers continue provide our community with the help so many families need.
I'm an owner of a Curves franchise which does a food drive every year in our communities. We love our CRRC for it's wide variety of programs they offer from the seniors to the youth. They have also allowed me to teach fitness at the Rec center to promote a healthy lifestyle for all ages. The amount of work they do is remarkable with the help of volunteers. I was also lucky enough to attend a focus meeting that gave us all a view of the needs in our community and how we can help.
This year I hope to beat our numbers for the food drive. Our first year 2,008 we collected over 900lbs of grocery, the second year 2,009 we collected money and food totally over 1,800lbs. This year I'd like to see the numbers double as the needs have increased.
